Great experience Leased a new Genesis from Loren and was treated courteously and professionally. I started with the Internet service team, Raven and Candice, who were prompt and responsive to my emails. My salesman was Reda who was excellent. Low pressure but open to making a good deal. The GM, David Choi, was straightforward and explained the new Chicago lease tax and usage tax which can be very confusing . The finance guy Phil DeSalvo was very friendly and took the time to patiently review each document with me even though the dealership was closing. (I saw the negative review that was critical but can only assume that gentleman had a bad day) For the first time I walked out of a dealer feeling as though I was not only treated professionally but that I got a fair deal. I would recommend this dealer to my friends. No frills but decent people. More

You can do better elsewhere. Consider taking your business elsewhere! We live almost 40 miles away from Glenview, but we chose to drive to Loren Hyundai because they had the SUV Consider taking your business elsewhere! We live almost 40 miles away from Glenview, but we chose to drive to Loren Hyundai because they had the SUV we were considering in their stock. Our salesman, Radek Koziol, was nice enough… no complaints. We feel we got a good deal (more thanks to us comparison-shopping elsewhere). And Radek even came in on his day off for us to pick up the new SUV. And the GM, David Choi, seemed pleasant when we spoke on the phone… he was apologetic for some of the issues we had and said he would deal with the issues in the dealership. However, stay away from their business manager, Phil DeSalvo. We weren’t even financing our new car there, but had to meet with him, of course, to buy the SUV. We, eventually, bought Hyundai’s extended warranty plan, after some negotiations. But after we bought it (which was a couple of weeks after we’d bought the SUV), it was like pulling teeth to get (correct) answers from him… it took 2-3 calls/emails to get receipts, counter-signed documents, etc. He sounded surprised when I asked him to send me our copy of the agreement once he had signed it… like he’s never done this before. And then when I contacted Hyundai “Corporate” about 3 weeks after we’d purchased the warranty (to make sure it was in the system and ask them if/when we’d receive any ID cards, or paperwork), they had no record of it. They suggested I re-contact the dealership. So, I re-contact Phil and he emails me that “he’s done everything right.” OK… so what?? Hyundai doesn’t seem to think it’s in the system, so wouldn’t you think he’d offer to help figure it out? Nope. So I said if he’s unable (or unwilling) to help me (which seemed apparent), I’ll be happy to speak with the GM, the owner, or Hyundai Corporate. He responds (in an email) that “threatening emails don’t work with him….” Threatening emails? I responded that I was just trying to get what I’d been promised. Man, what a jerk…. So, in the meantime, I contacted Hyundai (Corporate) again (as another week had gone by) to see if our warranty was in their system yet. And it was. And, at that point, the young man I spoke with told me it can take up to 30 days to get into their system, electronically. Well, if Phil (or anyone) had told me that over the past 4 weeks, I wouldn’t have been quite as concerned. Phil never gave us his business card when we were there buying our car (he had to handwrite his contact info on a piece of paper). And when I called to speak with him over the next couple of weeks, the person I spoke with on the phone told me he doesn’t really listen to his voicemails/messages… which seems clear, since he didn’t return my calls. So, bottom-line… stay away from the business folks at Loren Hyundai… especially Phil DeSalvo. Another footnote – I mentioned to the GM when I spoke with him – it’s been about 6 weeks since we plopped down nearly $40,000 for a new car and we have yet to get a “Thank You” note/email/call from anyone at Loren Hyundai. Really?? Doesn’t buying (anything) from a car dealership these days merit a “thank you?” Mr. Choi said that they send out a thank you email right away, but there must have been an error with the email address or something. Not 100% sure I’m buying that... Wouldn’t a first clue be to check into it if the email you sent it to came back as “undeliverable.” Oh, well… we’ll never buy from Loren Hyundai again… too unprofessional. And while Phil is probably pleased to hear that we won’t be back, I’m not sure the owners will be after we tell our story a few dozen times to prospective new car buyers along the North Shore…. More
