Horrible experience! What do I think about Napleton KIA of Carmel? I personally think the authorities should investigate what is going on here. My son, an active member What do I think about Napleton KIA of Carmel? I personally think the authorities should investigate what is going on here. My son, an active member of the military, went in looking for a car with better gas mileage because he commutes more than 60 miles - one way, to work. This dealership talked him into leasing a vehicle. For those unfamiliar with leasing a vehicle, you can only put a limited number of miles on the car each year you drive it without incurring penalties. The alleged promises they made to get my son to sign the lease were ridiculous, but my son is young and waaayyyy too trusting. This was a very costly lesson in life for him. I went into the dealership with my son while he was returning the leased vehicle and was appalled by the things they said to us. I wish I could say that is the only horrible thing they did, but it’s not. They were willing to admit there were mistakes in the transaction surrounding the leased vehicle, but it was a “gross error” and something about fat fingers, but nothing deceptive. How about illegal? The last time I checked, lying on the Indiana Odometer Disclosure Statement is a crime. It is also illegal for a dealership to put expired plates on a vehicle they lease. Tell me again how you transfer expired plates from out of state? Needless to say, the dealership was in a big hurry to take all of the paperwork back from my son surrounding the leased vehicle. They told my son they had already sold his car, but now they also needed him to pay them thousands of more dollars. (?????????) About two days later, however, surprise!! They have my son’s car back! They tell him to come back in and pick it up - no strings attached - but when he goes in to pick it up, oops! There are a couple stipulations after all. They tell him he cannot have the car unless he signs a nondisclosure agreement and they want me to sign one too. Did I mention I am not listed on any of my son’s transactions? During this whole debacle, my husband mentioned my son’s military status to the dealership in reference to the hardships they had created for him and we were told that giving any consideration to those serving in the military is “like saying give me a break because I’m short.” WHAT? As a mother with three children who have proudly served our country and risked their lives DURING combat I am immensely offended you would say that to my face!! If I could give a zero rating for the way this dealership has conducted business - I would. This is America and even if YOU don’t appreciate the sacrifice our military members have given to our country - it gives ME freedom of speech and the right to voice MY opinions. There is much, much more to this story, but those details are for my son to share, not me. #MilitaryProud More
