Best Used Car Buying Experience Ever! I was in the market to buy my son a car because he got a new job far away from home and taking public transportation was not an option. I dread used car buying because for some reason I always felt like I gotten a raw deal so I was not looking forward to it. I found a car via my online search that was located at the Napleton Ford in Libertyville. He came out and test drove it and loved it with the exception of a bumping noise coming from the back passenger side of the car. Our Salesman Tim Barcal was amazing, he told us he didn't want to sell us the car until he found out the problem. So, he let us know the next day that the mechanics looked it over and decided that it wasn't worth fixing and that it wouldn't help even if they tried. I appreciate his complete honesty. Not only did he save me from making a bad purchase, he and his manager Steve (the owner) went out of there way to find me a used car that was equivalent to what I was looking for and also gave it to me for the same price even though it had 20K less miles. I was extremely impressed and so very grateful to them both for making this a good experience so easy. More

He genuinely believes in the product he's selling and he makes sure you get the answers you want. He was as excited as us about the features. They didn't have a car with the exact options we wanted so Tim worked with other dealers for a trade. He was very responsive to e-mails and phone calls while we waited for the car to show up. The car was delivered in a couple days and we're all set! Other dealers' price was comparable... but Tim kept up at Napleton! More

I arrive early at the dealership before they open to view the car. Satisfied with what I saw, did a test drive and made the purchase. During the test drive I noticed a slight shudder during on acceleration but tapering off as the car got up to speed. I figured it may be a spark plug or wires. This car is for my son. So, I had taken it to my mechanic for an evaluation. Sad to say it was not in the engine compartment. But, in need of both CV axle shaft assemblies and wheel hub bearings, to be replaced at a cost of a little over one grand. Yes, I did test drive the car and being ten years old, I question would the dealer be of any help with the repair costs. All I could do was send an e-mail stating the problems and a copy of the work required to correct the problems. Hoping to get more than “To Bad Sucker “response, such as one I received a few years ago from a Ford Dealer in Arlington Heights. But, NO…the Used Car Sales Manager at Napleton Ford in Libertyville, IL called and said only a few weeks has gone by since the purchase; they will honor the cost with a check for half the repairs. After I had gotten myself off the floor, I thanked this fine Gentleman. In my sixty years of buying cars, this is the first time I experience a dealer going way out of there way to please a customer (me). Praise to Napleton Ford in Libertyville, IL. You will be the dealer for any future auto purchases. I do hope anyone reading this would consider stopping at Napleton Ford before purchasing any used or new cars, I’m sure you will be pleased with their service. THANKS AGAIN! Edward Dudzik More

After everything was completed, spoke with the manager, Kevin, and he didn't care at all. He told me he had everything on paper and the salesman Jim was supposed to tell me that but he didn't and Kevin didn't want any responsibility. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Good scammers, this is the reason for the dishonest stereotypical car salesman - it's all true. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE AND PURCHASE A VEHICLE. More

Thanks for getting us into our new F150. Rich also worked diligently to get us the financing we asked for. Rich helped us buy our escape three years ago so we felt at ease working with him. We even talked about a lease in a few months. Definately impressed with the customer attention. More

Great People, Great Help I purchased a new Ford Edge from this location and was extremely happy with the service from the moment I walked in the door. As a Costco member I wa I purchased a new Ford Edge from this location and was extremely happy with the service from the moment I walked in the door. As a Costco member I was originally referred to a dealership much closer to home, but when I didn't get a good feel with that dealership I spoke with Costco and explained that I'd be willing to travel further for good service, and I was referred here. I called and spoke with Tim Barcal before coming in, and he was very helpful, emailing me options before I even hung up the phone. When I arrived at the dealership he was very friendly and I felt I could trust him from the start. Tim explained he had a scheduled day off and so when trying to locate the exact vehicle I wanted to purchase Kevin Gordon took over and kept me informed the following business day. My brand new edge arrived quickly within 24 hours, and when I returned to officially purchase it Tim was very thorough, patient, and helpful in going over all of the options and functions of my new Edge. Rich Freni was very helpful in explaining and reviewing the financing details, and I even saved more money thanks to his insights about taxes and selling my 'old' car to another individual. As I explained when I left, I hope it's many years before I look for another car, but I'll definitely return to that location and ask to work with Tim, Kevin, and Rich from the very start. Awesome experience all around. More
Stay away from their service department! After replacing the parts and charging me a total amount of $1,800, the problem was not resolved at all. Since my employee took the van off the lot without checking (obvious mistake on his part) I found out later that day that the steering is still dangerously wavy, and on top of it all, they left the steering wheel disassembled. They refused to refund any money at all after acknowledging that they could not figure out what the problem was. The best they could do was offer me a discount a new truck. No thanks. Be very careful taking your vehicle to these guys. Worst mechanic experience of my life. More
