Although we did our best to assist and keep you satisfied, we feel it’s important to provide our side of the story for those reading your review. You purchased a 2012 Honda Civic in July for $8,495 for your son and chose to buy it as-is, declining the extended warranty that was offered at the time of purchase. Nearly a month later, your husband reached out with a repair bill of over $4,600, asking us to cover it. While we were surprised by the claim — especially given the vehicle’s good condition and low mileage — we still responded to every call, email, and text professionally and respectfully. Despite having no obligation to do so, we offered to bring the vehicle back to our facility and complete the repair at a fraction of the cost. This offer was declined, as you had already committed to having the repair done by your local mechanic. Even after that decision, we continued to support you by offering $750 toward the repair and later an additional $250, totaling $1,000 — simply to help and maintain goodwill, not because we were liable. We also advised your husband that the engine cost quoted by your mechanic was unusually high and even sent more affordable alternatives in an effort to help lower your repair expenses. At that time, your husband expressed appreciation for how we handled everything. However, during a later phone conversation, you openly mentioned that your son continued to drive the car while it was overheating, which likely turned a minor issue into a major engine failure. Had we known this earlier, our approach may have been different. We want to emphasize that all of our vehicles are fully inspected and serviced before being sold. The fact that the vehicle ran smoothly for a month and made a 3-hour drive home the day of purchase reflects that. At NJ Auto Sales, we take our customer reviews seriously, and we genuinely value constructive feedback. However, bashing our business and misrepresenting the facts is neither appreciated nor appropriate — especially after we went above and beyond to help resolve a situation we were not responsible for. We take pride in our integrity and the service we offer every customer, and we always do our best to find fair, honest solutions — just as we did here. With all of this in mind, we respectfully ask that you consider revising or removing your review, as it does not reflect the full picture of our efforts or intentions.
