Matt, Thank you for the feedback regarding your experience at Murdock Hyundai of Murray. The payoff on your trade, which you signed and agreed was accurate, turned out to be less than what you actually owed. Despite the best efforts of customers and dealership personnel, there are occasions when a payoff is wrong. Jordan took your phone call and offered options to make sure that the full amount of your loan balance on the trade would be sent to your lending institution. One option was to resign a couple of contracts with the correct amount so that the full balance would be paid out of your new car loan. The other option was for you to pay the difference directly to your bank. In either case, the money you owed on your prior loan is your responsibility. We are sorry that neither we nor you caught the erroneous payoff amount. We thought that our efforts to help you manage that payoff in a way that was convenient for you and worked with your budget would be satisfactory to you. Apparently it was not. As we explain to any of our guests who choose to purchase a "cash and carry" vehicle, these are cars which do not go through the same extensive reconditioning process as No Regrets certified vehicles and are ones we would normally wholesale. Because of high consumer demand for inexpensive pre-owned cars, we make these cars available to the public. We always explain that these cars are as-is and not certified. It is never our intention, nor in our best interest to hide mechanical problems or other defects. We try to make it very clear that such vehicles may require some work. Had we chosen to perform all necessary work to fully recondition and certify this car, the price would have been substantially higher. We are sorry to hear that it has given you so much trouble. Mr. Crispo, Your express maintenance plan does cover oil change and tire rotation. The invoice that gets printed shows $21 because that is what we have to bill to the contract. However, that cost is covered by your plan. Our records show that you were not actually charged. If somehow you did indeed pay any money for the service, please let us know so it can be refunded.
