Hi George. It was understood and agreed upon that the money from cancelling the warranty would be put toward your down payment. We often handle the legwork of warranty cancellation and allocate the funds to the new car deal as a courtesy to our customers. You ended up cancelling the warranty yourself and so should have used the refunded money toward the down payment since the deal was structured to include it, as originally agreed. When you decided not to go that route we offered other options including $0 down and a slightly higher payment. You ultimately refused those options and wanted to return the car, which we allowed you to do despite having signed contracts. Regarding the matter of your trade-in, we did indeed do work on that car and intended to put it on our lot for sale. We’re sorry things did not work out but maintain that we never deviated from the original agreement except to rescind the contract altogether per your wishes. Best regards, Murdock Hyundai Murray.

Not knowing your name I am unable to look up the pricing details that you were quoted. What I can say is that we are up front with pricing and fees. Sales tax in Salt Lake County is 7.25%. Other licensing and registration fees that are required by the state of Utah can add up to $300+ depending on the year of the car. The only fee we charge as a dealership is a $449 doc fee to cover hard costs of processing paperwork, registering your vehicle, completing reassignment of titles, etc. That is a standard fee which nearly all car dealerships charge.
