Buyers beware Read the fine print prior to signing anything. I'm embarrassed to say that I did not carefully read the fine print. My salesman promised to match as closely as possible an advertisement from my hometown Hyundai dealer. He gave me a price, and said it was BEFORE allowance for my trade-in and my $2000 down payment, and that his number would then be very close to my hometown dealer's offer. He even took my phone to show the message to and the advertisement to whomever approves deals. Then when I visited the finance adviser, he read through the documents, reading off the trade in and the down payment. However, when I got home and looked at the fine print, I realized that I was tricked. Again, I'm embarrassed to say that they "got me" for $7831. The salesman called me on Monday, May 1 to ask why I gave a bad review to Hyundai. He promised he was going to go get my paperwork and call me back on Wednesday, May 3, because he was off work on Tuesday, May 2. I'm still waiting for his return call. Also watch out for the dealership adding $25 to your loan to open a savings account at a credit union. I was not made aware that this dealership was adding $25 to the cost of my vehicle to open a savings account for me until the credit union called to welcome me to their "family." My advice to any buyer: before signing anything, take the paperwork home and look it over very carefully, and return the following day to sign for your car. More
