I worked with Mike Pierce and purchased a 2013 Hyundai Accent in August of last year. I visited 5 other dealerships and spoke with several other salespeople up and down the Salt Lake Valley, and ended up Accent in August of last year. I visited 5 other dealerships and spoke with several other salespeople up and down the Salt Lake Valley, and ended up returning to Murdock specifically so I could work with Mike. He was great! No pressure, very respectful, and worked really hard to earn my business. I visited the dealership 4-5 times before I actually purchased a car and he was always informative, helpful, I could tell he was really trying to find something that would work for me. He's even helped me out a few times after I purchased the car, answering questions and providing me with great customer service. Everyone should visit Murdock Hyundai in Murray, and ask for Mike! More

I was interested in a Sonata, but did not know the differences in the models. Before I left, I had a call from Mike Pierce and said I was on my way. My husband and I took a test drive in the first car he showed us and he explained all the options and the price. We were almost hooked and then when he explained the lease program we were caught. We had not had a new car in 10 years and with the year end deals felt we got a good trade in and all available discounts we could so we paid the price we were looking for. We love this car and would definitely recommend Mike and the dealership, in fact we already have. There was no pressure, Mike just answered our questions. What an awesome salesman. More
I will never recommend to anyone / purchase my vehicle for sure for any years to come. I had my worst experience with Murdock Hyundai. 1. The price they quoted and the sell price was different. 2. The customer service was so bad that they lost my check for $2500 , which ended up me paying the over draft fee of 50$. 3. They didnt even offer a cup of water to my 2year old 4. They say they offer the cheapest price which is absolutely false. 5. They were very particular about Hyundai survey which will be conducted to all customers after the purchase, and they will force the customer to give a 100% satisfaction, just because If they fail to get 100% the dealership will become a question as per Hyundai Motors Dealership Policy. We had been to a few dealerships looking for a new car, same old push and shove into buying a car. After 15 minutes or so a salesman came walking by and asked if he could help. We told him, Mike Pierce, what we were looking for and he went to work helping us find exactly what we wanted. Mike helped us with the dreaded money game, turned out that it wasn't much of a hassle. All said Murdock and Mike Pierce were great to work with, we have sent three of our friends and co-workers to them, they all purchased cars with the same experience. Good job "MIKE" and Jamison the finance guy. More
For purchasing a vehicle, a YES recommendation. For service...a likely NO. For one, you'll pay a premium on services, often near or over $100 per hour for labor. For another, there are few if any "specials" despite the sales person saying they'll "take care of you." In our case, we had a coupon at home (which we forgot) so our bill for the 30k service along with emissions/safety was $574. Our coupon would have saved us between $20 and $40. Alas, because we paid the bill (we had to in order to pick up our car), we were told the next day (when we said we would bring in the coupon) that the service was "closed" and thus our coupon could not be honored...but NEXT time, they would again "take care of us." Granted, $20 is a small amount; but for a big company such as Murdock, we would have thought that they would have said they'd take it off or give us a credit for service on our next visit. As it is, we're not sure there will BE a next visit since our mechanics can do the same services for much less. We just wish that the sales in service would be a bit more upfront, devoid of "we'll take care of you" promises and just spit out the price of the bill. No deals, no coupons, no bs. That's all one asks. More
We first came into this dealership on a Saturday after we had been car shopping extensively. Most places were a hassle to go, because we knew we would be there for at least 3 or more hours, meanwhile, we had had been car shopping extensively. Murdock Hyundai however was different from the get-go; We told Bill (after he skateboarded up to us) that we were not there to buy a car, and we never heard the words "how can I earn your business... today?" which I was personally very sick of hearing. He simply showed us around, we looked at some Elantras, and he gave us some advice on first car buying. It was VERY refreshing, and we knew where we would be coming back to Bill to buy our car when the time was right. To add to our positive experience, Bill never once contacted us in the next two months. No annoying emails, or phone calls, as if I had forgotten like an idiot where I had been to look at cars and who I had spoken with, which in my opinion is completely unnecessary. Almost exactly two months later, we returned, asked for Bill specifically, and just happened to get the exact car we wanted. Bill was never pushy, or overbearing, he was very conscientious of our needs and our experience as first time buyers, and we were so glad we found him rather than anyone else. He helped us get a car we wanted, not a car he needed to sell, and I felt like he was on our "team" so to speak, in the car-buying process. He honestly cared about us. He was never a car salesman, just a friend with a lot of experience. We highly recommend Murdock Hyundai, and Bill Swoger in particular. More
I live in Connecticut and chose Murdock Hyundai over dealerships in California, Nevada & Arizona because of Alex's work with me via email and telephone calls. The price he quoted me before I traveled to Salt Lake City was the same when I stepped into the showroom, and since the Sonata I chose wasn't prepped for sale, he even helped one of the service people wash the car so I could begin my vacation! An outstanding experience and I would strongly recommend Murdock to even my friends in New England! More
Tried to purchase 2013 Sonata SE from Murdock. Went back and forth with them and several other dealers. Really liked our sales person (Mat) and so decided to see if we could do the deal with Murdock in Mur and forth with them and several other dealers. Really liked our sales person (Mat) and so decided to see if we could do the deal with Murdock in Murray. Needed a specific model and color that they did not have on the lot. They said they had the specific car coming in. It was the last day of the month and they wanted to do the sale. Would only give me the price if I bought the car sight unseen right then. Spent several hours doing all of the paperwork and signing a sales contract for a specific vehicle (with a specific VIN) (this is in addition to hours spend negotiating the price). Car was to be delivered later that week (Saturday). I went out of town and told them I couldn't pick it up on Saturday but to give me a call on Monday so I could pick it up. No call on Monday. My wife called and left a message later and had no response from the dealership. Wednesday rolls around with no response, starting to wonder what is going on, contact sales person again and he reponds on Thursday and says sorry but he will talk to manager to see what is going on. Finally get a call from Lyle, sales manager, who tells me they don't have the car and there is no chance of getting it. He suggest that maybe I can get it from Ken Garff. Sorry for the trouble, he says. I had a signed sales contract for a specific vehicle and Murdock Hyundai backed out of the deal with nothing but a "sorry". Would they have let me out of the sales contract with just a 'sorry' from me. No way! They would have held my feet to the fire to enforce the contract. Ended up buying at Ken Garff Hyundai. Wow, what a difference in treatment. Easy to deal with and fast sales process. You have been warned! More
