Hi Joel. We can understand your frustration about how long all of this has taken. Believe us, we are frustrated too. Our title clerk, sales manager, finance manager, and general manager have all been involved to expedite the process. Without getting too deep in the weeds here, there were complications with the title outside of our control (the state mixed it up with another title), and further complications due to the fact that we are dealing with multiple states, an out-of-state lender, etc. We applied for a duplicate title in your state but are told it can take up to six months. Meanwhile, we are waiting on the State of Utah to release the title. Anyway, our title clerk has been working on this and keeping you informed along the way. We appreciate your patience. Best regards, Murdock Volkswagen.

Hello, Thanks for the response but nothing you said is true. I spoke with the State of Utah DMV title division and they have received nothing with the Vin number associated with this car. I also spoke with the state of California DMV title division, who responded that they have not heard anyting from your dealership since August 7, 2021. They did tell me that they had received a request from a person who they would not name, that a duplicate tile was mailed on March 20. The state of California was offended that you stated a duplicate title takes up to 6 months. Their average is two weeks. Further, your assertion that the title was help up until the missing title was returned was offensive to both states. I spoke with them concerning this claim. Duplicate titles are always requested when a title goes missing. I also hope you realize that Texas cannot issue a Calfiornia title. I hope that your dealership receives the title and we can be done with this mess. Considering the number of errors that were made concerning the costs asociated with the purchase of this car in the dealerships favor and the tall tails spun around the "missing titile." Myself and others smell unprofessional behavior and worse.

Additionally, when I recieved the car several months ago, the mileage was approximately 4,000 miles more than stated. I assume that you contintued to drive and show the care.

We can assure you that what we are saying is true and accurate. We have plenty of email correspondence with the State of Utah and other involved parties showing as much. Our team has put a lot of time and effort into fixing this situation for you, including several hours yesterday on the part of our title clerk. As she has tried to work with you and keep you informed, you have been less than kind to her. Progress was made yesterday and a new title from Utah is forthcoming. We'll let you know when we have it in hand.

I spoke with the state of Utah who told me that no request for the vin number which matches my car has been made. They also questioned why the state of Utah would be involved in the transfer of a california registration to a new owner in Texas. I question that as well. I spoke with the state of California who advised the same thing with the exception that the state had not received any information since August 2021. They did say that a new duplicate title had been requested but did not provide the name of the person requesting the duplicate title. I pray that it is your dealership. I have documentation of times and names of individuals I spoke with in both states. I also have documentation of the papertrail, texts and voice data that clearly outline the number of 'mistakes' on the paperwork. I was kind to your employee. I was told that there have been several people in this position since my car funded. I still don't understand why your dealership sent the wrong title. What this title has to do with my car. I wish that you would explain this in writing including who you talked to at the either of the two states involved in the 'title switch'. Neither state confirmed this to be a possibility. I also do not understand why you thought that my home the state of Texas was in anyway involved in this situation. I look forward to your written response. It also seems that instead of criticizing a customer who acted in good faith including putting a deposit on the car because other customers were interested and funding the car that you would do your best to make things right. Several employees have admitted that they had forgotten about the problem. One employee also promised me that she would supply temporary tag before each tag expired. Again this was not done. What has happened here is that a Hyundai customer was robbed of the joy of purchasing a car and getting to drive the car. It has been driven only once since it was delivered for fear of violating state law. I also had a friend drive me to my Santa fe, NM home to pick up another car kept in NM to drive while these problems were addressed. I have been impacted both financially and emotionally but all I have heard from you is that I hurt an employees feelings. I am both terminally ill and a senior citizen, classes protected by Federal law. I look forward to seeing your response in writing to my question mentioned above.

It comes to mind that I have contacted the dealership regularly to get a title to the car. No one from the dealership has ever contacted me directly to explain and keep me abreast including the person writing the dealer comments above. I have tried to contact the owner of the dealership several times and employees refused to connect me with this person or give me any contact information. A search of the internet revealed that no public contact information for a Murdock was available.

Mr. Gilbert, any agreement for upgrades or work to be performed must be put in writing and completed within a reasonable time with the cooperation of the customer. As your purchase was from about six years ago, I will check on the lifetime oil changes and advise the Woods Cross store accordingly. Best regards, Murdock Hyundai Logan.

Oct 25, 2021 -

SBBHGILBERT responded

Correct, it was all agreed upon and all in writing. Just not followed-up on quite the way it should have or would have had the money already changed hands. As for the lifetime oil changes. Look no further than your own marketing history. That’s what was offered when we bought the car and now you’ve decided to change that agreement. You decide how you want to do business. And people will judge you accordingly.

Oct 26, 2021 -

Murdock Hyundai of Logan responded

I confirmed that you do indeed have lifetime oil changes from your vehicle purchase in Logan. Unfortunately, at the time of your purchase, our systems were not integrated across dealerships to make it easy for one store to see that data for another store. At Woods Cross we've had a lot of people try to redeem free oil changes when they didn't in fact have them, or when a limited-term oil change program had expired. For that reason, they are asking that customers who have lifetime oil changes keep a copy of the agreement in their glove box and simply show it to the service advisor when they come in. If you no longer have a copy of that agreement, I'll be happy to get you one.

SBBHGILBERT responded

No need. We will pay for future oil changes and car purchases elsewhere. Thank you.
