Be careful what you say I recently bought a new Elantra, and I went into Murdock to see if they could match the offer I was receiving from another Hyundai Dealership in Salt I recently bought a new Elantra, and I went into Murdock to see if they could match the offer I was receiving from another Hyundai Dealership in Salt Lake, and because I had bought from them in the past and had a pleasant experience. When I spoke with one of Sales Managers (I believe his name was Jase - Used Sales Manager) he informed me that they would be happy to match the same offer but that they would have to arrange my financing and add 2% onto whatever APR they were able to find, because that's what the other dealership would force me to do if I wanted their extra discount. Now, being that I had bought from Murdock in the past, I decided I would ask the other dealership point blank if any of this was true, to which they assured me it was NOT. I went back to the Sales Manager, and explained what I found out, and he told me that they were lying to me, and they would screw me over when I got down there, and that he had 100's of customers that had gone there and come back to him. He said that he could still match their discount but the above mentioned stipulations would be required. It is quite disappointing that the people running the day to day operations of this dealership think that the best way to get business is by talking down about their competitors. I did go to the other Hyundai dealer in SLC and the whole process was transparent, and they even found me a rate that was 1.5% lower than what I was pre-approved with through my local Credit Union. ***on a side note, Tanner Short the salesman was great and even apologized for the poor treatment that I had received.*** UPDATE** I have decided to change this review to a 3, as after speaking with Tanner Short and Ben Murdock, and experiencing their genuine concern with my interaction, I decided that the rating should be adjusted to reflect the overall experience.
