I brought my GX470 into Mungenast Lexus because the "Check Engine Light" came on. After 45 minutes of waiting, David Cordner informed me that the following things needed to replaced: - Charcoal can "Check Engine Light" came on. After 45 minutes of waiting, David Cordner informed me that the following things needed to replaced: - Charcoal canister $580.00 plus 2 hours of labor @$140/hr. - The Battery $160.00 - The gas cap $35.00 (!) - The interior cabin filter $50.00 I told Mr. Cordner I would think about it. He replied, "There is no way your car will pass emmissions until you have us replace the charcoal canister." Bottom line, I took my vehicle to a state inspection garage the next day and it past the emmissions test! The battery was fine with an 80% charge. I had replaced the cabin filter a month ago and have the receipt. Obviously it did not need to be replaced. And, oh ya, the gas cap works perfectly......! Beware of this dealership. Very unprofessional and deceptive, possible fraudulent business practices. * GET A SECOND OPINION* More
We have purchased three Lexus cars and have had all serviced at this dealership and have worked with B J Springett exclusively. B J goes the extra mile to make sure the car is done at time promised a serviced at this dealership and have worked with B J Springett exclusively. B J goes the extra mile to make sure the car is done at time promised and that a loaner car would be available (if needed). When my car needed a set of tires B J was able to get me a very good deal on some Michein tires through the Lexus dealership that compared to any "hot" deal advertised locally. B J is enjoyable to work with and both my wife and myself feel he is a great asset to Mungenast Lexus. More
On two occasions, bringing two different cars here for the first time, I left really disappointed. First, back in June, I purchased a Lexus LX 470 out of state that I brought here basically for a MO the first time, I left really disappointed. First, back in June, I purchased a Lexus LX 470 out of state that I brought here basically for a MO State inspection and a detailing job. During the inspection, the service rep tried to convince me that I needed to have my wheel bearings re-packed, even though the car was not due to have the work done ( car had 100,000 miles on it, repacking the bearings was due at 120,000 miles). I declined the work, and later took it to another dealer to get a second opinion, who said the bearings were fine, and to do the work at the time it was scheduled. The second experience I had involved a LS 460 that I purchased for a family member with only 10,000 miles on it. While I was out of town, my family member took the car in to have someone look at it because the tire pressure sensors were going off in the car, and he didn't know how to resolve the issue. When he got the car back, and after paying $100+, the problem was solved. When I got home and looked at what was done, the money spent solving the problem didn't go go solving the problem. . .the dealer snuck in an oil change on the car, which was COMPLETELY NOT NECESSARY!! The car even had a sticker in the window that said "next scheduled oil change at 15,000 miles." The car only had 12,500 miles on it! Anyone with half a brain could read the sticker and know that an oil change was not necessary!! Even without looking at the sticker on the windshield, any service advisor should know the routine maintenance on these cars is every 5,000 miles!! It's almost like a 10 year old kid going to a heart surgeon, and telling them, "Hey, I want a heart transplant", and the doctor says, "OK, no problem", without even questioning it. What really upsets me is that Lexus is known for their service, and this is my first experience bringing both of these new cars to this dealer, and right away, I feel like they're trying to take advantage of me. I think I'm going to start maintaining my LX 470 at Seeger Toyota instead (it's basically the same thing as a Land Cruiser anyways), because their service is impeccable. I already let the dealer know of my displeasure with this past experience for my LS 460, and I am considering giving them another shot. But honestly, I am not going to deal with this nonsense at all going forward. It's just a major xxxx off when any service advisor with half a brain could have just looked at the odometer and said, "The car has 12,500 miles on it. It doesn't need an oil change for another 2,500 miles." Even my 10 year old can figure that out. Get your act together guys. You have a nice dealer and a nice location. Don't let stupidity like this ruin your customer's experience. More
My wife and I went to Mungenast to have my oil changed. My wife and I went to Mungenast to have my oil changed. We looked in the Showroom and met a very friendly --and non pushy-- sales person-Nate Hopson. My wife and I went to Mungenast to have my oil changed. We looked in the Showroom and met a very friendly --and non pushy-- sales person-Nate Hopson. At the end of the day we had purchased 2 new cars and it was for two reasons--the quality and reputation of the Lexus name and Nate Hopson. It was obvious from the beginning that he was there to help us and to get us what we wanted with the best deal. When the car that I was looking for was not on the lot he looked at other dealers to find the car that I wanted instead of trying to talk me into a car that was on the lot. Nate is extremely "laid back and non pushy". It appeared to both my wife and I that his number one goal was to make us happy. As stated earlier, I went in to get my oil cahnged and due to Nate Hopson we purchased two cars. If you are the least bit nervous about purchasing a car, my advice is to ask for Nate Hopson. I know that the nextv time that we purchase a new car we will ask for Nate Hopson. More

I just moved to the St. Louis area. I have used this dealer in the past when in the area and did have a couple bad experiences with service.I found the service consultants very rude, however this time I dealer in the past when in the area and did have a couple bad experiences with service.I found the service consultants very rude, however this time I worked with David and he was awesome! He followed up on all my issues and was very friendly. Overall, this dealer would not rate as well as the one I used in another state but it has improved over the past year. One thing that I feel is not aligned to customer service that this dealer does vs Lexus dealers is the use of billboard advertising on its loaner cars. It makes me not want to get a loaner because its downright embarrasing when you are working with a client and driving the dealers billboard around town. Other dealers only advertise on license plate but Munganest plasters it as a billboard on windows all over car. Extremely self serving and not customer focused, especially for business cliental. More

Brought my '07 ls460 in to have a shift hesitation and a noise from the rear of the engine checked. The service tech said it sounded like the high pressure fuel pump. They replaced the pump and also the lef noise from the rear of the engine checked. The service tech said it sounded like the high pressure fuel pump. They replaced the pump and also the left injector driver which had excessive clearance on lobe. Also, to deal with the shift hesitation they installed TSB L-SB-003-08 for recalibration of the ECM. As customary, while on the lift, they checked the vehicle over for any problems and found the front brakes in need of pads & rotor resurfacing. I was able to use the 15% off coupon they sent me after I made my online service appt. and that took the sting out of the only non-warranty work that was done. I was provided with a Lexus Hybrid as a loaner for a day and a half while this work was being done. Altogether, the service dept. treated me and my car courteously and professionally and I recommend them highly. More
It felt like the bottom of my car was shaking and falling out. This did not feel like a minor repair and I thought I had better not mess with it. It is reassuring to see Kurt Blankenship because he has your out. This did not feel like a minor repair and I thought I had better not mess with it. It is reassuring to see Kurt Blankenship because he has your best interest at heart and knows his stuff. My car needed a sensor as well as the main seal; not an inexpensive repair. I needed to retrieve items from my car and the "Gold Team" answered a few questions that I had and made me feel comfortable that they cared about getting my car fixed and also gave it a good looking over. I would recommend this service center and truly appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of those who serviced my car today. Thanks to Kurt and the "Gold Team." More
I brought my Lexus 350 in because it was making a loud noise, like two pieces of concret rubbing together. It was something that did not happen all the time but when it did it was very startling. Last fal noise, like two pieces of concret rubbing together. It was something that did not happen all the time but when it did it was very startling. Last fall I had it in and left it overnight but it did not act up. I brought it in on Sat and BJ and the service machanic suggested I leave the car to see if they could duplicate it. They had it over the weekend and called on Monday morning to say it did not act up and suggested keeping it another day. They called on Tue morning and said it did act up and they were pretty sure they knew what the problem was. That was the good news the bad news was how expensive the repair was going to be. I had just had my car in for a 90,000 mile service and it cost me a lot of money. Nothing in my budget but I'm a firm beliver of doing the service to keep my car in good condition. I also have a 99 Honda Accord that I take to Mungenast in South County and have dealt with them for at least 20 years so I know and trust their work. I explained to BJ that I would have the work done but if their was anyway to help with the cost I would be very greatful. In the past 3 months I've spent close to 2500.00 in car repairs. My husband has had surgery and we are dealing with hospital and continuse doctor bills. He talked with the service manager and they covered the warranty and I covered the labor. When BJ told me the final cost I could have cried for joy and then I thought I must have heard him wrong. When I went to pick up the car the total he told me was for the labor and it was what he told me. BJ was out to lunch when I picked up the car but Drew Lesinski took care of the paperwork. He also was very polite and pleasent. BJ was very good about keeping me up to date on what was happening with my car and I appreciate everything he did for me. More
