The 2004 Ford Explorer you purchased came with a 5 day, or 300 mile return policy. We are one of the only dealerships in the area that offer this to our customers. Under this program it does not matter how many miles you go over the 300. We are not able to change the policy from one person to the next. Our goal is to be consistent in how we offer vehicles to the community. We always do everything we can to help in each unique situation. In order to help we gave you back the purchase price paid for the Explorer on trade towards another more fuel efficient vehicle. I know that the mileage was recorded at the time of the sale. It had not yet been detailed and I understand that detailing is done off site. I do not know how many miles that is. Yes you gave her a choice to keep the Explorer or trade it in on the spot. She was already at the top of her budget, and the vehicle she bought was about $3000.00 higher. That is about 2.5 times her fixed monthly income. I understand that one of your mottos is that like McDonolds, everyone gets 2 pickles regardless of the cost of the vehicle. I was not expecting that the 2 pickles were taken away at 301 miles. Not only that, but the burger was now cold and the only way to get a hot burger was to spend another $3000.00.

After taking car number 2 from the lot, the check engine light came on in less than 100 miles. It turned out to be the catalytic converter. Mullinax redeemed itself and covered the cost even though it was a 50/50 warranty. I suspect that this was a pre-existing problem that whoever traded the car in did not tell them about.
