I found the Cargo Van I was looking for online after hours. I went to Mullinax Ford early the next morning and connected with Chad Ojard.......It was my lucky day! Chad had enthusiasm! I’ve purchased a hours. I went to Mullinax Ford early the next morning and connected with Chad Ojard.......It was my lucky day! Chad had enthusiasm! I’ve purchased a lot of cars and trucks over the years and I can say that most of the cars I purchased was a painful process. Chad did all the work! Chad had my trade in appraised while we went for a test drive....and the entire purchase process was carefully explained in detail and it was obvious that it was a team effort from the front door to Finance.....I bought a Used Van but was treated like I was buying a top of the line FORD........ Chad James was amazing! He went above and beyond to help me get the truck I wanted. no interest in customer service! Bought car from dealer on a Saturday morning in February of this year. they give customers supposedly a 5 day, for any reason car return guarantee. on Bought car from dealer on a Saturday morning in February of this year. they give customers supposedly a 5 day, for any reason car return guarantee. on the fifth day I had the car we had a flat due to a tire that was not repaired by the dealer or previous owner correctly. discount tire told me the tire needed to be replaced for 210.00 dollars, I called the dealer and because I lived 55 miles away and they new I liked the car they decided to gamble that I would not return the car for 210.00 dollars. ( I would never return a car over a few hundred dollars). Customer service should not be based on a gamble, I thought the dealer should have had some sense of responsibility or customer service, obviously I can not recommend this type of dealer. More

At random it would lock up, pinning my wife to the seat, unable to move. For safety we would have to stop the car every time; it would have to be unbuckled, then fully retracted before it would act normally to allow movement such as leaning over to access the glove box. It might go a week without symptoms or it might lock up six times in a five mile trip. The service writer, Martin, replaced it under the 50K safety warranty. The new belt acted EXACTLY the same, locking up at random intervals. They replaced it again. It did it again. Ford Motor Co. had no answers. I needed a “second opinion” as the service department could not replicate the issue. One Sunday, out for a drive, it locked up and we drove ten miles to Mullinax with my wife locked in place. I showed it to one of the salesmen on duty so we could verify it with service the next day. The salesman was not a “Certified Mechanic” so he was not “qualified” to describe that the belt was locked up. I found a seat belt repair facility on line, but the service manager explained that this was for wrecked cars and may not work properly. He talked me out of trying them. It continued to get worse, so I took it back, AGAIN. In my last discussion with the service manager, Michael, I demonstrated the issue. It would lock up, then not release. I explained that in an accident, if my wife could not reach to unbuckle it, or if the buckle was damaged, she would be trapped. I showed him that the belt would not even move if the shoulder pulley was in the lowest position. I worked best in the highest position, but still locked up. “That's normal.” Say what? I showed him that the driver's belt did not act that way. “Well, it wasn't like that. You must have been working on it.” Note: I've been a motorcycle mechanic for forty five years, owning my own store for thirty five. I really hate when customers “fix” my work. It makes it almost impossible to correct an issue. I would NOT do that and explained so. “Well why didn't you explain about the pulley when you brought it in?” I told him that it never occurred to me that someone replacing a malfunctioning seat belt would not check the ENTIRE system. “Well, you didn't mention it.” And truly I didn't. I assumed a level of competence that was unfortunately sadly lacking in the service department. I finally got him to sit in the passenger seat and try it out. He EXACTLY replicated the symptoms. Then he got out, looked me in the eye, and said, “You need to get a second opinion. I can't replicate the symptoms. But I'll fix that pulley.” He did fix the pulley, a ten minute job, and I left. It is much better now. It now only locks up every hundred miles or so. Mullinax should hire a real mechanic. They apparently only have hack parts changers. That may be adequate for routine oil changes, but falls far short of the level of professional expertise I assumed a large dealership would demand of its employes. At this point I find it hard to believe that the belt system was even replaced. I was never shown the old parts. I think that the best that can be said of Mullinax is that they would be happy to take your money. I will never buy anything from them or take my car in to be serviced there. More
