We take customer safety here very seriously. We are sorry that we were never able to verify your concern regarding the front passenger seat belt. Every time we looked at it, it worked as designed and intended. In April 2019, we replaced the seat belt under warranty even while stating we were never able to verify concern. In June 2019, you returned back and were still concerned with the same seat belt. We grabbed two other Ford Escapes to do a comparison and they all performed the same. When you left the dealership, you seemed satisfied. Then in July 2019, you returned for the seat belt and were again not happy with our findings showing that it was working as intended. At this point, we warrantied the seat-belt for a second time, again stating we couldn’t replicate the issue you were having. About month after that service we spoke, and you asked me for the core for the seat belt that we just replaced because you found a third party that rebuilds seat belts and airbag modules from crashed vehicles and they were willing to adjust the spring tension that is internal in the seat belt. At this point I looked into this company and due to the fact that they would not be held liable for any adjustments done, I strongly recommended you not take your vehicle to them. I apologize that I was unable to give you the core of the seat belt, that is simply due to Ford’s warranty policy and is out of my hands. I was under the impression that we were on the same page and you had moved on from that idea. Three weeks ago, you contacted me again regarding the same seat belt. I asked you to bring the vehicle in and I inspected the function of the seat belt. I noticed on the top of the seat belt where you can adjust the height of the belt to the customers shoulder, that the plastic trim had popped out. I reattached the trim in the service drive and rechecked the function and the seat belt was working the same way it has since we started way back in April of 2019. This is why I expressed you that maybe it would be best to get a second opinion from another Ford dealer because you always seemed displeased with our findings. Again, we are very sorry for any frustration or miscommunication on our part We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us and giving us the opportunity to work with you.
