Had awkward experiences with AutoRanch during COVID so I started using a dealer 40 minutes away for my prepaid FORD Premium Maintenance (oil changes, 15/30/45K Service etc). Decided to give the local place, started using a dealer 40 minutes away for my prepaid FORD Premium Maintenance (oil changes, 15/30/45K Service etc). Decided to give the local place, Mountain Home Autoranch a try again. Disappointing and frustrating experience. I made an appointment for my 60K service. Showed up 8 am. There was confusion between their Service and the "Quick Lane" oil change. Asked them to please look up the plan after being told "it's just an oil change". Handed off to to Warren, the FORD guy, and he looks it up, with minimal words says they'll do everything. Lady at Service desk says I can wait, maybe 1.5 hours but I go home to wait for a call. At 1:30 pm I call them, transferred from to, Service, to Quick Lane. Told "I think the oil change is done but mechanic is at lunch and has not filled out the paperwork." I ask about the 60K service (fuel, cabin, engine filters) and he is unaware. He calls back about 2:30 and says it's done. I asked again about the full 60K service and he said Warren showed him the "right button to push on computer to see what was to be done". I picked up the truck and was given a number of pages with checks and asterisks. I get home and see that the DEF is at a little less than 3/4 full, and topping the DEF is a part of the regular oil change, has been done by 4 different dealers (Nampa, Indianapolis, Yakima, including Mountain home AutoRanch) on previous oil changes. I looked it up online and it is part of every oil change for a Diesel. I looked at the paperwork they gave me and it has a "check" for topping off the DEF. With some trust issues for this dealership, I'm a little concerned knowing there are important service items on this 60K service. I called the dealership, my hope would be Warren would say, "Oops, bring it by and we'll top it off." and maybe "we can go over the paperwork with you to give you confidence in our service." Nope. He said "You didn't ask for it. You have to request it. It's an option." Being pretty confident I went back and forth with him. He's the trained Service Tech, maybe I'm wrong and I have just been lucky that others topped it off. I told him no sense in arguing, I won't be back. But after crawling around the truck when I got home to ensure the other filters had been replaced, and seeing the dipstick with black oil I decided to call FORD. Warren is wrong. You do not have to "request" every individual included item for service. In fact, it is part of the the service and the language for topping the DEF is "if so equipped". FORD 6.7 Diesels are so equipped, I hope the other items were performed properly because I have little confidence or trust after this experience. More importantly he revealed the soul of this place. Do yourself a favor and NEVER purchase a vehicle from this dealership! They sold me a vehicle at their Meridian location that closed shortly after my purchase. Their communication is horrible and you will constantly get the run around with what is going on. The first time they picked up my vehicle they returned it on E and I barely made it to the gas station. Yet they expect you to return their vehicle full (or they will charge you a $75 refueling fee). They also will charge you a $250 cleaning fee if the loaner car is dirty. Yet they delivered it very dirty including an empty beer can behind the drivers seat. I rely on my truck for work and they have had it so long I've lost income by canceling 2 events. As of today they have had my truck for 49 days and now they are telling me it's going to be another 4 days! Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. More

Recently bought a vehicle from this dealership and was it was the worst experience we have ever had purchasing a vehicle and trying to get it fixed since. To start when we were going to buy the vehicle they was the worst experience we have ever had purchasing a vehicle and trying to get it fixed since. To start when we were going to buy the vehicle they tried to low-ball us on the trade in. The individual goes out to look at the vehicle and comes back and states we can only give you $X due to multiple things. The one that sticks out the most is "mismatched tires". I stated that was false cause we just put brand new rims and tires on the vehicle less then 30 days ago, he states let me go and relook. Comes back and says oh yeah they are all the same. Then he states that they need to completly re-do the touch up paint cause it wasn't the right color even though it was purchased at a dealership for the VIN# for the vehicle. Then the new vehicle we were buying, the automatic side step was not working from the beginning. It would start to extend then go back up and we asked about it. They stated was just the settings when we knew it wasn't (settings would make it not come down at all), I am a mechanic in the military and am familiar with them. So they offered the extended service warranty due to it being able to cover the step that was not working from the time we bought the vehicle. We agreed to the service contract and I thought I might be able to clean and lube the step myself, so I did and it still didn't work. So my wife makes a appointment to have it dropped off to get looked at for the step and they stated they would call and never did. We dropped the vehicle off on a Thursday for a Friday morning appointment. At 5 PM Friday night they still have not called so we went to the dealership and they hadn't even looked at the step at that time. Asked them if they could and they stated they would and would give us a call, never did. Went up Saturday morning and that is when they said the step would not be covered (even though they stated it would when purchasing the vehicle, the ONLY reason we purchased the extended warranty). They said they would try to make it right and give us a call the beginning of the following week. Over a week goes by and they still didn't call so we called and asked to speak to the same individual that was assisting us and we were told he would call back. He never did and the side step still does not work. My wife was got her foot stuck in the step multiple times when it wouldn't go up then did unexpectedly to the point it has almost caused her to injure herself. Long story short from the beginning, getting the quote on the trade in, then buying the new vehicle, and then trying to get it serviced since has been the worst experience we have ever had out of the 15+ vehicles we have ever bought. I have never left reviews for anything else but felt I would not want people to have the same experience we have had. We would never recommend this dealership. More

We noticed that the price had been reduced by about $1600 on the window sticker. We went in the next day and took it for a test drive. We told them that we wanted the SUV. They texted me a price quote that had the original unreduced price, a 60 month loan term instead of the 36 month that I requested, a $299.50 fee for "Theft Registration", and a $399 fee for "Brakes Plus." I didn't ask for either of these accessories, but I was told that they were standard included options for this dealership. Wait, what?! I didn't ask for them! I did get them to come down to the reduced price that was on the sticker, but they wouldn't remove the two unwanted options. I did end up buying the vehicle because I couldn't find another one at that age and low mileage anywhere in SW Idaho. I got the vehicle I wanted, but I felt a little deceived in the end. I got home with the vehicle that night and didn't even feel good about having a newer SUV. What's wrong with that picture?! Why is it that so many car dealers have this "slimy" reputation of being deceptive? There was one more incident that disturbed me during the buying process. My salesman went into the office area to check on something for me. One of his superiors (or so it seemed) started chewing him out over some other issue. I was standing near the open doorway in plain sight of everyone in the office area. I was embarrassed for my salesman and found this to be very unprofessional and rude conduct. If they wouldn't have had the vehicle that I was looking for with lower than average miles, I would have walked away and gone somewhere else. The current used vehicle shortage kind of pinned me in a corner, but it is what it is. I wouldn't waste the time driving out to Mountain Home unless you can't find your desired vehicle anywhere else. If you do decide to buy from them, be sure to ask about any mandatory "options" that aren't really optional at all. More
I was headed to McCall from Utah on a trip last week and had truck problems. I stopped into this dealership as my truck is a Ford and they are a Ford dealership. Lindsay Walcker in the service department wa had truck problems. I stopped into this dealership as my truck is a Ford and they are a Ford dealership. Lindsay Walcker in the service department was AMAZING, helpful and a calming influence at the time. She was able to quasi diagnose the problem, was hospitable and suggestive with solutions and made "vehicle problems" less problematic. The other people on the staff that I interacted with were great as well. Great service staff from my experience! More
