No accountability for poor / misleading communication I had my vehicle towed in with an alternator issue. I called the service department immediately so they were expecting my vehicle's arrival. For two d I had my vehicle towed in with an alternator issue. I called the service department immediately so they were expecting my vehicle's arrival. For two days I didn't receive a status update so I called them. I was told they would have to call me back. The following day I finally received a call from a service advisor about my vehicle. At that time he explained to me that the towing service charge would be INCLUDED IN MY INVOICE. I agreed and they performed the inspection. When I was called back with the diagnosis I was given a TOTAL cost. I agreed that they perform the service. When my vehicle was ready I was called again and given a new larger TOTAL cost that additionally included the towing. When I explained that I had understood TOTAL to mean TOTAL and that there is a clear difference between INCLUDED ON THE INVOICE and INVOICED SEPARATELY, I was told it wasn't their error, the dealership owed me nothing, and I owed the total balance due. This was then raised to both the service advisor's manager, and to the GM of the dealership: neither of whom would acknowledge the error and make it right for the customer either. Initially, I was only questioning their communication skills, now I also question their integrity. Beware. Get all critical communication in writing. More
