I purchased a used 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring from him. He offered good advice during the buying process including recommending Consumer Credit Union for a used car loan on which I got a great rate of 1.9% APR. Greg was cooperative when I asked to bring the car in for a multi-point inspection at an authorized Honda dealership. However, a couple of issues left me less than 100% satisfied. Greg said the car was bing sold “as is” and did not address the service warning light for an engine coolant replacement which costs $143 to remedy at Castle Honda. Greg said that he could have done the maintenance at a lower cost, but then, if that’s true, why didn’t he take care of it in the first place? The engine air filter and the interior air filter both needed to be replaced at a total cost of $100, but Greg said the he could have replaced the air filters at a lower cost. If so, why didn’t he before selling the car and include the cost of the maintenance in the price? I realize that the vehicle was used, but not taking care of long-term maintenance items like engine coolant and air filters left me with a negative impression. Positives: open to negotation, patient and does not rush the pre-purchase mechanic inspection, good financing recommendation Negatives: does not address all maintenance warning lights before selling and sells cars truly "as is" Update June 5, 2018: I got an email from Greg saying, "...obviously you got angry and thus the 3 star review." I wrote the review rationally. Trying to make a customer feel bad for giving 3 out of 5 stars leaves a much more negative impression on me. I'll rationally reduce my rating to 1 star from 3 for the offensive remark. More
