I took my car in for an oil change. As always, the service folks were diligent and kept me informed. Something happened this time. I’ve taken my 2017 Explorer Sport to Pacific Beach Mossy for every service needed since I purchased the vehicle from them. I replace my oil and rotate my tires every 5000 miles, I’m old school, love my car for every service needed since I purchased the vehicle from them. I make the trip from Chula Vista because of the service department, first rate customer service, professional and honest. I was always taken care of by assistant manager Ben Merrill, to my surprise, he no longer works at Pacific Beach but I decided to go there anyways for my 55000 mile servicing. To my surprise, Mr. Davidlee Diaz handled my appointment, he was courteous, knowledgeable and looked up my history, new I was a loyal customer and me feel that I had made the right decision to bring my car to PB Mossy Ford. I had an oil change, 27 point inspection, tire rotation and 4 wheel alignment on a holiday special rate offered by Mr. Diaz of which I knew nothing about, which cost me just a little over $200.00, my car drove as if it where brand new on the way home. Really didn't think I'd have to make this review, but here we are. I had previously taken this car to Perry Ford who actually got some warranty work done for me, but heard this dealer was better about here we are. I had previously taken this car to Perry Ford who actually got some warranty work done for me, but heard this dealer was better about communication and how they take care of their clients. How wrong that was... This all began 5 weeks ago, I took in my Mustang GT due to a random misfire code, and the transmission was overheating. The car would shudder and act like it was going to stall out, and the trans temps were often at 225+F when highway cruising, and as high as 235 from normal driving. After one week at this dealer, I was told that as I suspected the intake manifold was broken and the IMRC's had failed, causing the misfire. They told me the IM would be replaced under warranty which is great, however they also looked at the trans and their trans guy said they couldn't do anything because there was no code and the fluid was the right color/level even though it is operating way out of normal spec. They gave the excuse, "we're not allowed to drive it at 80mph so we can't recreate the problem" and I even drove down to the dealer so I could drive it and show a tech the problem, but they refused to do that once I actually got there. During this week where they had the car, they also gave me a rental car which is supposed to be covered since the intake manifold repair is classified under the powertrain warranty (which I have), yet I was still charged $330 for the rental. I contacted the dealer the next Monday and asked to get it reimbursed, to which they said it would be handled and I'd get the money back. Almost 4 weeks later, no response, no reimbursement. Now, It's been 4 full weeks since they told me to take back the car and drive it as is to await the new IM which is on national backorder. Understandable, parts are hard to get right now, I'm fine with waiting. The problem is, at this point in time, I've called 4 times, emailed twice, and gotten absolutely no help or response, and since I've been driving the whole 4 weeks as they told me to do, I've been slowly degrading the life of my entire powertrain. The car drives like complete crap, the transmission shudders and feels very unusual, the car misfires and backfires constantly, and has already died three times at lights at idle. Mossy, your service department could be so much better, and you have wonderful people that work for you. Just please, teach them how to communicate and pick up the phone, and you won't lose another paying customer like me. :( More

Receiving the truck at the dealership was also a breeze. The paperwork and financing was no problem and he walked us through the features of the new truck and that was that! Will definitely come back to Mossy Ford for my next vehicle. More
