Buyer Beware I recently drove 2 1/2 hours (5 hours total) to buy a car that I did not end up purchasing from Chilson's. I had inquired about a 2014 Jeep Grand Che I recently drove 2 1/2 hours (5 hours total) to buy a car that I did not end up purchasing from Chilson's. I had inquired about a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee previous to driving to the dealership. I was ready to sign the paperwork and drive it back. I worked with the sales person over the phone initially. We reviewed what was advertised on their site and the auto check report over the phone. The sales person indicated that there was a small amount of damage reported on the autocheck report but it was cosmetic and had been repaired. "Maybe a bird flew into it," is what they said. When I arrived at the dealership I immediately noticed that features in the ad were not on the vehicle. Specifically a tow package and backup camera. The response by the salesperson was that a 3rd party website posted their vehicles and they weren't responsible for the description. Really? If you are selling a product you should make sure your advertisers accurately represent your product. It takes about 2 minutes to update a website. We needed a car so we continued and took the vehicle for a test drive. I asked for the CarFax report. When I returned I noticed an alert on the CarFax report--it said, "Passenger front-damage reported, passenger rear-damage reported, driver front-damage reported, driver rear-damage reported, structural damage reported, air bags deployed." I was in shock after reading this and that I wasn't made aware of this in advance of driving 2 1/2 hours to the dealership. I walked out of the dealership. The salesperson merely said, "Maybe this isn't the car for you." No apology, nothing else. I can't believe I wasted half of a Saturday. Buyer beware of this dealership especially of the currently listed 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I am going to make sure to share my story with as many people as possible in hopes that they can avoid a similar experience. More
