No callback I had went to this dealer looking for a ford fusion and was greeted by several salesman but helped by Raul. He seemed pleasant and I liked how willing he was to let me test drive the car. The experience was quick and easy until it came time for a callback. After taking my info for the credit app, he stated he would call me back letting me know if i wss approved or not, he said he would call that same day. I never heard from him, so I called and left a message in which I never received a call back. I called the next day and spoke with him in which he told me that they were still working on a approval and for me to just wait. I asked him if i should look elsewhere for a car and he stated no and promised he would call me back. I never heard back from him which is too bad because I was very serious about buying a vehicle and took my business to LaFontaine Ford and purchased a Fusion with great customer service. I would never recommend this dealership because it seems like they dont really want the business. More

Frustrating experience We recently bought a Ford Escape which my daughter took to Courtesy service for repairs because she is in E. Lansing for school at MSU. I had purchased a warranty which cost us over 1800 to cover expensive repairs. My daughter called home in tears. She had the car towed there. First they lost the car which they claimed never arrived (It was in their lot) and that they didn't have it. When they found it she said they were rude and seemed unwilling to help her. They told her the warranty was worthless and the required repairs would not be covered. Our dealer said they probably were unwilling to help because we hadn't purchased the car there. The repair was over $600. They claimed nothing was covered by the warranty and we had to pay everything. She claims that under no circumstances will she ever go back to that dealership because of the rude treatment she received from them. More

This dealership was perfectly pleasant to both my wife and to me. After talking to a young man on the phone, we drove 70 miles (one way) on a Tuesday to look at a new Mustang convertible that Courtesy For and to me. After talking to a young man on the phone, we drove 70 miles (one way) on a Tuesday to look at a new Mustang convertible that Courtesy Ford had on their showroom floor. I told the salesman and the sales manager I would take the car home, today, if the price was right. I clearly expressed the desired price. They didn't even come close. To be honest, with spring approaching I don't think they had much interest in even trying. I've purchased around two dozen cars in my life, and I worked in the sales end of the industry when I first graduated college. I know car sales. Some dealerships you can visit and watch the tumbleweed blow through--some dealerships turn out lots of cars. This dealership doesn't turn out a lot of cars, and here is why: They won't come off their margin of profit. Every car comes with a "holdback" amount dealerships don't like to talk about. It's guaranteed money worked in the price of a car. So dealership "invoice price" is never what they actually paid. Never. You will find the holdback amount stated right on the dealer print out for the car (bottom left). Ask to see this when you shop. This particular Mustang, which stickered at $34,825, had a holdback amount of $1022. To a dealership, this is sacred money. When I buy a car, I expect every penny of invoice and about half of holdback. Some dealerships will deal that aggressively. Some won't. Courtesy Ford won't. What really aggravated me, though, is that I had a NADA print of the value of my trade. The stated value for my car, in clean condition for a trade in scenario, was $16,425. Courtesy Ford offered me $14,700 after the owner himself appraised my trade. My wife and I left at this point. To not deal aggressively on a new car is one thing--to try to cheat customers out of $1700 of equity is an entirely different thing. On Wednesday I visited Lasco Ford in Fenton. Here is how dramatically different the outcome was: Lasco gave me $16,545 for my trade. Lasco then sold me a Mustang convertible at invoice price plus $250 of their holdback money. Lasco put together an exceptionally fair deal for us, they made a reasonable amount of profit, they have a very clean used car to sell and they moved a new unit (which is now sitting in my garage). And the difference in price amounted to $2095. I'm not sure about everyone out there, but I'd prefer to have that money to take my wife on vacation rather than donate to the owner of a car dealership. Bottom line: If you want to look at a new car, visit Courtesy. When you're ready to buy, go somewhere else. More
My experince with Courtesy Ford and Martin Court in particular was not a good one and I never even met the man. All this so we can make a plan to trade cars for a 24hr test drive (as they advertise). For some reason Martin/Courtesy Ford decided this must be a scam and Martin called me at work to leave a message stating that I would need to complete a financial application before he would honor the 24hr test drive. This is not what he or his manager told myself and my friend was needed to do this and he wasted my entire day waiting for him to confirm with me (i emailed at 7:30 am and he did not respond until after 2 pm) I emailed and told him to forget it, I felt lied to. He send some kind of super lame, take no accountabliity or provide an explantion half assed apology back to me. When I told my friend how things had worked out, she was upset that she had been lied to as well. She sent an email to the manager never receiving a response. She sent an email to Martin which he promptly replied to in attack mode. He bascially said we were weird and running a scam and that we were the liars. Martin was absolutely out of line and insulting attacking her like that!! Courtesy Ford does not value potential new customers very much if Martin Court is the type of guy they hire to be the face of their company. This was my first FORD experience and it almost made me a Toyota customer! Shame on you Martine and Courtesy Ford!!! More
It actually started with the initial call I received from their online representative. She informed me that she was not a sales person but that she would get me a salesperson who was just as curteous as she their online representative. From the beginning he was very polite. During our initial meeting he showed me exactly what I asked for and did not try to push other vehicles on me. During the purchasing process he explained every figure and the reasoning behind it, so did the Finance Manager Brandon. When I went to pick up my vehicle it was clean inside and out and ready to go. When I am ready to purchase a new vehicle I will definately return to Bud Davis at Courtesy Ford Okemos. More
I have been looking at Ford Escapes for over a year now. The company that I work for has an "X" Plan pricing agreement with Ford. I was all ready to go in present that price and be done with it. Courtesy Ford beat the "X" Plan price by several thousand dollars, without me having to haggle about anything. The salesman, Rob Beckwith was told after my initial visit to the dealership my timeframe and what would be the earliest I would be in the market. He asked if he could call me at that point, to which I responded yes. I never received a call from him prior to the date that I stated. There was never any "Wow, you wouldn't believe what we have going on now" type of call during my "blackout" period, which salesman from other dealership violated routinely. Rob was professional, courteous, and I NEVER felt pressured. I felt like I was in control of the situation (whether I was or not). I had had previous dealings with the dealership in the past when it was under different management when the name was Campus Ford and I had a miserable experience. I actually didn't realize that the name had been changed and the management had changed. Night and day. I am extremely happy with the car, the way I was treated throughout the purchasing process by all the personnel at Courtesy Ford, especially Rob Beckwith. I would recommend him very highly to anyone in the market for a new Ford product. More
