Morrie's Minnetonka Mazda, Anne Brick specifically, provided the best overall information regarding my interest in a new vehicle, including features, price estimate and timing. I ultimately made the purchase thanks to Anne's expertise and caring. This is my third interaction with Anne related leasing and purchasing a vehicle from Morrie's Minnetonka Mazda. Anne and the staff at Morrie's Minnetonka Mazda made the process easy and I am not disappointed with experience from any perspective. During the purchase, I was made comfortable, attended to while a treatment was added to the vehicle. Additionally, Morrie's Minnetonka has already followed-up with me. More

During the inspection, she's telling me to hurry up because there are other people behind me. It's my time and if they scheduled appointments close together, that's on them. I would not buy another car from them. More
Where do I even begin? I went to Morrie’s Minnetonka Mazda to buy my first car as an adult, expecting it to be an exciting and professional experience. That was not the cas I went to Morrie’s Minnetonka Mazda to buy my first car as an adult, expecting it to be an exciting and professional experience. That was not the case. I had recently moved to Minnesota and had a semi-permanent address, which the finance team would not accept as an address for their paperwork, so they asked for a previous address that was permanent. The only options I had were out-of-state, so I said I could provide them so long as the car still got registered to Minnesota. They said it would. I clarified this multiple times, each time reassuring me it would be registered to Minnesota. They also never asked me if I could receive mail at the address listed. I bought a warranty and drove off the lot, which I apparently should not have been able to because my insurance was not active for the state of Minnesota, something dealerships are supposed to verify prior to letting you leave with the car. The paperwork from that day also bore the wrong county name, and they had initially financed the car wrong in a way that would rip me out of a $1K cost reduction. Months go by and I still haven’t received my plates, and the dealership continued to assure me that the Minnesota DMV was backlogged because of Covid and I should receive them soon. It wasn’t until months later and an incredible amount of wasted time that they realized they registered my car to the wrong state… not only that, they listed an address before my previous one, so the plates weren’t forwarded to me. By the time I finally got the plates, I was made aware that switching to Minnesota plates would cost $400. They didn’t seem to think this was at all an issue because everyone has to pay license renewal… even though not everyone has to pay state transfer based on their mistake. They said to just wait until my old plates expire and then get Minnesota plates. I noted that in the state of Minnesota, you must apply for Minnesota plates within 60 days of residence, which they initially denied and then said none of them knew it and the rule must be new… it is not and these people sell $20K+ cars every day and somehow don’t know that. While I was at work, I received a call from Bobby Rancourt from their finance department. I had emailed him about removing my extended warranty, which I had filed paperwork for about 7 months prior that he just fully didn’t remove (I also had to pay an extra month of interest because it took him so long to remove the warranty cost), and he was calling about it. He seemed to have absolutely no knowledge of anything: the warranty total, selling it to me, being emailed about it months ago, that the loan he set up was through Mazda, etc. He then asked how I knew the warranty total hadn’t been removed from the loan total… as if an engineer wouldn’t be able to figure out that their loan is $3K higher than the price they agreed to pay for the car. He also accused me of making up the aforementioned 60 day rule, which he would know because his “dad’s a lawyer”... again, a quick google search would have proven me right. At this point, he decided it was time to just fully berate me for sport. I had sent an email to my dealer where I was not happy because the DMV told me her mistake would mean I would have to pay sales tax twice (which turned out to be wrong), and he decided to start yelling about it, calling me “trashy” and “rude” numerous times. He was not trying to have a conversation about it or anything on-topic, he was just screaming over me and speaking as if I were an insolent child and not a customer… Again, I was at work when this happened, and all my coworkers and boss could hear him, so I had to just hang up. In later conversations with employees who at least feigned caring, they continued to claim I never said multiple times to register it to Minnesota because “no one remembers that,” as if that means it didn’t happen. They refused to take responsibility for their mistake, admit it was a mistake, or cover the $400 state transfer fee, even though I had bought a car for more than fifty times that value from them. They also told me to never call them again. So in summary, what they say they will absolutely not take responsibility for if you call them out on it. They will literally say anything to make a sale, and the customer experience is only important to them to get said sale. They cannot be trusted to understand the legal background of their business, even though they are again selling products worth tens of thousands of dollars. They will mess up the paperwork and potentially rip you out of money if you don’t actively pay attention to every step. They gave me the worst customer service experience of my life, and they redefined unprofessional behavior. My hope from this is that even one person who was going to buy a car here, reads this, and decides to go elsewhere, creating a significantly bigger loss than the measly $400 they refused to pay out. Everything that happened the day of sale I could have gotten over had they just owned up to their mistakes and fixed the situation, but instead they actively chose to come after me as an individual over a mistake that accounted for less than 2% of the cost of the car. Truly the most petty and childish response to something I’ve ever seen. More
