Just had my 5th minor maintenance (every 5000 miles) service visit performed at Morries Mazda on my 2012 Mazda. I have had 3 different techs perform the service now according to my receipts. During the 5000 mile minor maintenance service, the door hinges are listed as being lubricated, and it is also called out in the owners manual for being required every 5000 miles. Well, out of the 5 times I have had this service, the hinges have only been lubricated twice. This last service visit marks the third time it has not been completed. Looking thru the receipts, only one technician consistently performs this task every time. The same technician also has the absolute best attention to detail, the undercarriage is clean afterwards and the oil on the dipstick is at the perfect level. The undercarriage is so clean and so is the bottom of the oil pan when its complete you would swear it was not done, but I know it was. This is the level of detail I love to see. After this last oil change, I did check the oil level and it was barely wetting the end of the dipstick. I checked it several times and yes the car was on a level surface with the engine off for several minutes to allow the oil to drain into the oil pan. I ended up adding 16oz of oil to bring it to the full mark, a half a quart of oil. I am not saying the service at Morries is unacceptable, its just more inconsistent than I would like to see. In the future I will request the technician by the tech number listed on the receipt that has consistently performed beyond my expectations and performed all the tasks I am paying for like the hinge lubrication. Jesse Howard is a very knowledgable and professional gentleman to work with. What was intended to be a brief online chat ended up becoming a very informative online session which then developed into gentleman to work with. What was intended to be a brief online chat ended up becoming a very informative online session which then developed into a visit to the dealership resulting in the purchase of my 2012 Mazda 3 GT. I would highly recommend Jesse to anyone in who is actively or passively in the market for a vehicle, Many of the other sales associates were very kind and attentive to us during those times we were waiting on a vehicle to test drive (4 in all in our case) as Jesse was also helping 2 other customers during the first part of our visit, but I would not have known that had he not mentioned it to us. A very good experience all around in terms of ease of atmosphere and the level of courtesy and respect we were shown during our 7 hour visit to Morrie's Mazda. This will not be our last car purchsed here. More
The service department needed my car for the full day to complete the protection package, so I was set up with a loaner, at no charge, to minimize the inconvenience. I was working with John Sullivan. I had a great experience at Morrie's in purchasing my new 2014 Mazda CX5 recently. John was low-key answering questions and providing information. I was given the time to test drive a 2013 and 2014 CX5. I felt no pressure and the one-price philosophy made it very easy. It has been 17 years since I purchased my last vehicle, so this time it was a much nicer experience. John showed us the Mazda test drive route. The route was great way to drive the SUV under varying road conditions. Morrie's also purchased my current vehicle, and that experience was also very good, I received a fair price on my vehicle and the process was so easy. More
I have been going to Morrie’s Minnetonka Mazda for almost 19 years now & that’s because of their Service Department. I always look forward to going there, as it is always a pleasant experience. Jim Cruz 19 years now & that’s because of their Service Department. I always look forward to going there, as it is always a pleasant experience. Jim Cruz is the Service Manager I deal with the most (99.9%), unless he has a rare day off. I consider him as family & a friend, I don’t recall the exact number of years that Jim has been a Service Manager at Morrie’s, but it has been quite a few years. He always greets me with a smile, we always have something to chat about, he makes me feel welcome, not like some other businesses that just treat you like a “customer”, that’s a big plus in my book. He always explains what is going to be done on my vehicle in basic terms that I can understand, aside from an oil change, I understand that. Whatever time frame Jim gives me for the work being done is always right on target or slightly sooner. I will only buy Mazda vehicles because of the wonderful experiences I have had over the years at Morrie’s Mazda. Also when I bought my last vehicle, I asked Jim to refer me to a Salesperson that I would be really comfortable with, as Jim knows my personality & I trust him. He also did an excellent job with that & I totally enjoyed my experience with Anne Brick from Sales. I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate Jim Cruz, Service Manager. If by chance when I come in, if Jim is not there at the exact moment when I arrive, I am always greeted by Jean or Jason, also with a smile & they always make me feel welcome too. The prices & quality of the work at Morrie’s is also a plus. I trust Morrie’s Minnetonka Mazda, that’s why I still come there even for my routine basic service needs. It’s just a great place! More
