Diagnosed and charged for incorrect repair INVOICE NUMBER: QLCB273277 DATED: 12/05/2014 CUSTOMER NUMBER: 142916 LOCATION: Morrie's Minnetonka Ford I have been taking my vehicle to Morrie' INVOICE NUMBER: QLCB273277 DATED: 12/05/2014 CUSTOMER NUMBER: 142916 LOCATION: Morrie's Minnetonka Ford I have been taking my vehicle to Morrie's Minnetonka Ford service center for 10+ years I drove in to Morrie's Minnetonka Ford with my 2000 Ford F150 needing a mechanical look on Wednesday December 3rd 2014. I had vibrations occurring at 50 mph speeds and higher. I told the Morrie's service agent I thought it could be my tires/wheels needing to be re-balanced, but to check for the exact cause. The service agent came back to tell me I needed four ball joints and two upper control arms replaced. He said nothing about tire balancing. He estimated the cost to be around $1,350.00 to fix the vibration and might get it lowered because of labor overlap for all the parts replacement. I waited in the lounge from 9:15am until 5:15pm, checking in three times for status updates. At the end of my time there, the service agent said the ball joints and upper control arms were NOT the problem. But all were installed. He felt bad and said I wasn't responsible for this cost. He turned red and was stumbling over his words with embarrassment. He made it sound like one of the vehicle runners or someone moved my truck into the wrong mechanics stall. From there they mistakenly marked my truck for ball joint and upper control arms when it probably should have been another vehicle. Why replace all of that? I have every single one of my Morrie's Ford Service receipts. Every single one. Nothing was ever noted as deficient prior to this. The actual problem was my U-joints. Two other service agents and one mechanic looked at the paperwork and were mumbling SHOCK at the screw up! They didn't have the U-joint parts at that time, but the agent said it would be done in the morning. He said come in then to pick it up. He gave me a loaner vehicle overnight. I returned at 11:30am Thursday the next day. A different service agent said parts wouldn't be ready until Friday and that it would be done Friday late afternoon. I got the call to show up around 2pm Friday. I showed up and without warning, I somehow became liable for the ball joints and upper arm repairs! I had to get my vehicle because I needed it for work this weekend. Morrie's Minnetonka Ford committed fraud by lying to me. That cost me $1,519.74. They charged me $70.00 to balance my four tires and replace the U-joints. That is how my invoice is broken down. Makes no sense. When reading the repair print out, I always see notes from mechanics stating what they found deficient and/or what I stated to the Ford service agent. This printout said nothing from the mechanic. It just said replaced parts without any description saying parts were worn out or causing vibrations. The u-joint issue was clearly noted by the mechanic. I now know it was only my U-joint. I went into the F-150 forums to look up my issue Wednesday night. Members have posted issues of squeaking when driving and vibrations when driving. Almost every single response has been "bad u-joint". I had that issue for a good 2 months, but thought it was my rotors and brakes squeaking as part of the break-in process. Those were recently replaced by Morrie's. The vibration began about a month ago, but I rarely drive on the highway. I am a local driver 99.5% of the time. I was a customer there for a long time. Never again. I find their repair tactics to be intentional criminal fraud in nature. I left my invoice number and my customer number for reference. I stand by my review. If anyone has any questions, please contact me. I am willing to pay the full repair cost of the U-joints. I want a full parts and labor refund for the cost of the ball joints and upper control arms repair. No other terms are acceptable. Period. As a side note. I had usually worked with Ford service agent John. He was always thorough in detailing the repair issues and even would bring me back to see what was wrong. I saw him that day. He always recognizes me and remembers my name. Great guy. For some reason, they shoved me into the oil change side this day. More

Two days later I get a call that the car is ready. I drive to the dealer and meet with Nancy. She encourages me to drive the car AND have it checked by a mechanic. I schedule a shop appointment for that same day at my expense, and start my test drive. A few minutes later I get a call from Nanacy, "Bring the car back, Someone purchased it sight unseen"!!! Obviously Morries is hiding problems with the car and sold it to a "Flipper". I have the VIN# and will watch for this car on Craigslist and other sights where "flippers" prey upon the inexperienced car buyer 99.99% of the buying public test drives their cars before buying, I guess at Morries That is not allowed. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME Upon, seeing this review I get a call from Morries telling me that it's my fault! The SM Kevin said "When people take care to a mechanic, they find things wrong and ask us to make repairs" -WOW GO MORRIES!!!! He also asked if I still wanted the car because the flipper was ok with bringing it back. WHAT A CROCK! I am Just Sorry I have spent money with Mories in the past both on a purchase and a trade which they gave me $8,000 on and SOLD for $16,000.00 Forego the 100% Mark up on used cars and AVOID THIS DEALER. Was sold a lemon. They're either dishonest or irresponsible Had an awful experience at this dealership. Bought a used car, as is, and the car didn't make it more than 400 miles before the clutch went out. I n Had an awful experience at this dealership. Bought a used car, as is, and the car didn't make it more than 400 miles before the clutch went out. I noticed also noticed (after driving for a week) the wheel bearings badly needed to be replaced, and the knob for the heat/AC was broken (just sitting in the groove.. and apparent that pliers was used to turn the dial inside), but minor things I could fix myself. I find it hard to believe that they didn't know about any of these issues before selling it to me, and find it much more likely that he played dumb. I was told by Tom that it had some slight body damage from hail but mechanically sound. "We test them and make sure they run down the road, that's about it." Riiiight.. the car isn't checked for any major problems? If the car blows up on my way out of the lot, and I opt out of the warranty, is that on me, too? Yes, I could/should have bought the warranty, but it's an older used car that I just intend(ed) to get 2-3 years out of. And is it unreasonable to expect a car bought from a dealership would last for more than 500 miles before a significant problem happens? If this happened after 6 months it's a different story. Especially when I'm told it's mechanically sound and would be a good commuter from the dealer, who is (in theory) supposed to help you get all of the information to decide on the right vehicle? If they would have told me about any of these issues, I could have made a better decision, but I think they were just happy to get my money and get rid of the car. Tom himself seemed apathetic and close to retirement so probably doesn't care much, in general. I was basically told, tough luck, it's your problem. Was told the same from the manager. I have two friends who are mechanics at dealerships and when I explained the situation they said that when that happens at their work, the dealership tries to meet them halfway or provide parts, even if they aren't obligated to do so - imagine that: building a rapport with your customers! What a concept! Be very careful at this dealership, especially if looking at used cars. You probably won't get all of the information, and they wash their hands of you as soon as you give them your money. I would expect to be ripped off from a private party on craigslist, but not from a big, seemingly professional dealership. More
"Buy Happy" is a lie I will praise businesses when they do well and I will rip on them when they don't. Morrie's Minnetonka Ford Lincoln is one of the worst businesses tha I will praise businesses when they do well and I will rip on them when they don't. Morrie's Minnetonka Ford Lincoln is one of the worst businesses that I have ever encountered. Their service department is an absolute disaster, their service manager Jim Misjak is unresponsive and their general manager John Aretz cares more about profits than he cares about treating his customers fairly. Stay away from this dealership! Their slogan "buy happy" is so far from the truth they should be sued for false advertising More

His knowledge of For I shopped all the big name Ford dealers in the metro and decided to write the business with Morries after meeting Curtis Hughes. His knowledge of Ford vehicles is second to none and his laid back, no pressure sales style was top notch. I could write a novel on my experience but I will just say that Curtis went the extra mile to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. I am a very picky customer and Curtis did not disappoint when he delivered my mint 2014 titanium Escape. I look forward to future business with Curtis and Morrie's. More
Buy Happy Gaurantee--Absolutely true! My husband and I purchased a 6-year old Toyota Tacoma pick up truck from Jake Braun at Morries Ford in Wayzata, MN. Everything seemed to check ou My husband and I purchased a 6-year old Toyota Tacoma pick up truck from Jake Braun at Morries Ford in Wayzata, MN. Everything seemed to check out okay during the test drive, but when we brought it home and put it in reverse, we noticed that something was squeaking. We took it back to the dealership, and they repaired a broken drive shaft that would have cost us about $600. We got it back but felt a little uneasy about rust underneath the truck. Because we were still within the "7-day Buy Happy" guarantee, we asked Jake if he would still let us return it. He said with a smile, "No problem." We appreciated his professional manner. He did not give us a hard time or make us feel bad about returning the truck. Typically, we purchase used vehicles from private owners. However, after this dealership repairing the truck and still taking it back, we felt grateful that we went through this dealership. Thank you, Jake Braun at Morries Ford in Wayzata. We'd recommend you to anyone! Sincerely, Noal and Lisa Chidester of Brooklyn Park, MN More
