Pushy sales techniques Our main sales guy Rick was fine. Overall he was pretty laid back and would back down if he could tell I wasn't going along with what he wanted. However, the entire experience was very stressful and left a bad taste in my mouth. So while i would recommend Rick, I cannot recommend the dealership as a whole or any of the other people I worked with during my sales experience. Here's a couple of the things that rubbed me the wrong way. Prices on new cars on the website showed various discounts that were not available. This is a common kia dealership tactic apparently as I shopped around at others. They either charge you a higher interest rate for the loan, or take money off the car, but not both. Some discounts were simply not available unless you are military or something. This makes it difficult to do an apples to apples comparison of prices. This is shady. The one part where Rick was pushy was this: We took home a first used vehicle and had our mechanic check it out, but it had an oil leak. We looked at a second used vehicle but had not yet brought it to my mechanic nor had Mortiz had their service team look at it or detail it. Rick tried to get us to do financing and sign a contract without having the vehicle checked out, by anyone. When my wife and i wouldn’t budge, Rick brought in his sales manager. He promised that they would roll back the contract if there was anything wrong with the car, saying they were just looking out for us and worried that someone could buy the car before we signed, telling us how great their vehicles were and we didn’t need to check it out with a mechanic, yada yada,. This came across very pushy and insincere. I felt I was being pressured to buy a vehicle I didn’t know anything about. I had not yet even seen a carfax history on it. Thirdly, Rick gave me a price sheet showing our payments for the agreed upon price and interest rate w/ financing. However, the payments were inflated. The math simply did not add up when you take the price of the vehicle, down payment and interest rate. He said I would have to talk to the finance guy to understand why the payments were higher. More on that below. Fourth: Finally went to see the finance guy when we decided to buy. Interest rate was a point higher than what they estimated and the finance guy seemed completely unapologetic. I'm not sure why they can't lock this down when they run your credit. But that’s fine, its an estimate and It didn't make a huge difference in overall price. But then, before I see my actual payment, the finance guy tries to get me to buy an extended warranty. There are 4 options, and the LOWEST would have increased my payments by $75 a month, others were MUCH higher. I told him, at that price, I could just by a brand new car in which case you don't really need an extended warranty. I also said that I have had no opportunity to research the warranties and that Rick told us nothing about this so I didn't feel comfortable with a last minute surprise. The finance guy then told us that Rick was UNQUALIFIED to discuss the warranty with us and actually seemed angry that I wasn't interested committing to this extra expense. Another hard sell that I had to argue through. This is why the payments didn’t add up. Its like they are trying to get you to expect an inflated payment so they can last minute sell you a warranty plan you may or may not want. Finally, Rick kindly told us we could get a free paint touch up on a scratch on the back. We scheduled a time to go in and Rick said it would probably take 20 minutes. I came in early in the morning and the lady said they would put my car in and that Rick would probably be there soon. I waited about an hour and asked her if she heard from Rick. She said no. I asked if my car had been looked at and she said that it would probably be several hours at least and that she didn’t know why Rick told me I could wait for it to be done. She also seemed very unapologetic. So I left the car there having wasted an hour. Look, just give me your best price on the car, tell me all my options and their prices and exactly what my payments and interest rates are ahead of time so I can shop intelligently. Of course you should make a healthy profit, but don’t try to oversell me. I’m not interested in haggling over every little thing. I didn’t even haggle on the price of the car because I felt like it was fair and yet at every turn, it seemed like they were trying to get me to spend more money. Don’t argue with me or push me to do something I don’t want to do. The more you push, the more I think you’re potentially being dishonest. Don’t pretend you’re looking out for my best interests when you’re trying to sell me something. I almost walked out a couple of times. My wife and I were just so tired of car shopping and we didn’t want to have to start over with another traditional dealer and group of sales people. Otherwise, I would have gone somewhere else. More

They have great, friendly shuttle drivers that get me back and forth to work in a timely manner so I can keep up with my maintenance. I highly recommend this dealership!! More
