Brandon was very informative, knows his products, answered all our questions and is very personable. We would definitely recommend Jim Browne Chevrolet of Tampa and especially Brandon to work with. My hunt for a new use car was a long process and a crazy one at that driving around looking at cars I even was doing it online as well which brought me to Jim-Browne-Chevrolet of Tampa Florida where it was one at that driving around looking at cars I even was doing it online as well which brought me to Jim-Browne-Chevrolet of Tampa Florida where it was a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse so I thought so I drove there to look at it so I thought when I got there I was greeted by Mr Brian Reid who assist me well when he tried to look up that vehicle he couldn’t find it anywhere in his inventory why you ask because the vehicle was already sold but the sales person I was communicating with never mention that to me so I was back to square one so I thought Mr Brian Reid made it his priority to help me find a similar vehicle that was in his inventory that was not only in my prince range but also the same style of suv I wanted and even though I went there with one style in mind I wanted I ended up leaving there with something totally different I ended up falling in love with when he had showed it to me so my fist time experience at a dealership was absolutely nothing but amazing and I will definitely buy from Jim Brown of Tampa again because Mr Brain Reid was nothing but fantastic. They sell death traps! This place is horrible! We came from out of state and bought a car from them. The car had been sitting at the dealership longer than we have had it in This place is horrible! We came from out of state and bought a car from them. The car had been sitting at the dealership longer than we have had it in our possession due to mechanical problems. The service department claim to remedy the issue but the same codes keep happening. Without giving us a copy of repairs completed, it seems they kept the car for a month and said that they worked on it and didn't. The vehicle was also returned to us with exterior damages that they claimed to have no knowledge of happening. It wasn't until we started calling them asking about the car did they get off their duffs to return it. I would highly caution anyone considering buying here to beware that this place buys cars at auction and resells them without any inspection. The vehicle we bought had the wrong oil in it and the service department never caught it until it was taken to a brand dealership. This vehicle is a deathtrap and they refuse to remedy the situation. Jose contacted me following my online inquiry and we were able to establish a fine working relationship, culminating in our purchase of a new Chevrolet Silverado. As a retired General Motors employee who built Chevrolet trucks, I already had a great appreciation for the quality of the brand. Jose worked to ensure that we had a positive outcome from a negative beginning and we were very appreciative that. Thanks Jose for a job well done!! More
No voluntary disclose $11,000 damage to a new vehicle On 24 Jun 19, I test drove and put a deposit down on a new 2018 Chevrolet Volt with 4000 miles, and requested delivery scheduled for Sat 29 Jun. The On 24 Jun 19, I test drove and put a deposit down on a new 2018 Chevrolet Volt with 4000 miles, and requested delivery scheduled for Sat 29 Jun. The dealer indicated the vehicle was a dealer demo, came with the manufacturer's warranty, and did not indicate there was any damage. When we questioned whether the vehicle was only driven by dealership employees, the answer was yes. We were also told that the vehicle's warranty would start on delivery date. On 27 Jun 19, after reading dealer demo reviews we validated the VIN with On Star, and found out that the vehicle was placed into service with 48 miles in February 2018 (19 versus 36 months). Additionally checked VIN online for accidents and insurance claims (no items reported). On 28 Jun 19, contacted dealership regarding warranty, requested maintenance service record, estimated interest rates, and questioned small white grease pencil marking "RF" on front right window seal. Received a police report and $11,000 repair estimate. Vehicle was damaged in 2018 with 300 miles while being used as a service loaner/short term rental. Again requested maintenance record and pictures of damage. Salesman said he would forward after getting in at 9am, so we said would be drive over to the dealership after receiving these files assumed around 10am. On 29 Jun 19, received text and phone call around 11am from dealership asking whether we would be keeping appointment, but still had not received requested documents. We arrived at the dealership before noon. The salesman greeted us; however, we told him that we wanted to speak to the manager as the damage occurred prior to him arriving at dealership and was unaware of the major repair prior to 28 Jun. The salesman requested the manager come over to speak to us on 3 separate occasions, and the manager never came over. Finally after waiting 1.5 hours, I asked the customer service lady to have a manager come over to process deposit refund as I was tired of waiting. The manager still refused to come over, and had salesman come over to state that he would need the receipt and the card in order to process the refund. Thankfully, I had my original deposit receipt. Approximately 2 hours after arriving at the dealership, I received the refund receipt with the story that the damage had slipped the manager's mind. My fiancée wanted to speak to a manager. A gentleman sat down with us. He stated that the vehicle was repaired at Jim Browne Dade City Collision Center. He stated the vehicle had been re-skinned, brought a listing of replaced parts, and stated that they were trying to price the vehicle based upon mileage (listing online indicates MSRP for new vehicle with no disclosure of damage). He came back with pictures of repaired vehicle which showed filler (bondo) on almost every single panel, but no panels listed on replaced parts list. He then went to get the service record for the vehicle. About 20 minutes later, we went to find gentleman who was helping us but could not find him on dealer or service floor. We left the dealership shortly after and went to a different Chevrolet dealership. Needless to say, if you're buying used from the dealership ask for a CARFAX and dealership maintenance record. If you're buying new, ask for full dealership maintenance record for the vehicle. Make sure you get these before even negotiating price.... The only positive were the frontline salesman who was not aware of the damage and the sales floor customer service desk. More
