My great experience with Subaru of Richmond: We went to another Subaru dealership in Midlothian and experienced sub-par customer service. The salesman who finally came to help us did not educate us about anything Subaru had to offer. He was only interested in showing us the cars that we saw online. When it came time to sign for one of their used models, there were so many hang-ups and delays. It really started to feel like we were bothering them, and taking up their time. We attempted to negotiate with the salesman who seemed relieved to explain that they have no power to negotiate at Subaru to no avail. He made no effort to work with us. So, we left. With much reservation, I went back to Subaru but this time to Subaru of Richmond. David Lowenhagen promptly greeted me outside and before I knew it, he had 3 different Subaru Foresters pulled up to the front door for me to examine and test drive. He was extremely patient with me and educated me about newer models as well as older models. The whole experience was much more pleasant and accommodating then before. David explained that they have little room to negotiate on used models, but that they can negotiate on newer models. I jumped on a 2018 model Forester and never looked back. If the Subaru salesman at the Midlothian location had even pretended to show interest in making the sale, he could have possibly presented other options to me (knowing that I wanted to leave with a car). Simply putting forth half as much effort as David had at Subaru of Richmond might have led me to buy from him instead. More

We were lucky enough to have Ray Chamberlain come out and meet us on the lot. Ray was very knowledgeable and helped us every step of the way! I would recommend anyone looking to buy a Subaru to go to Subaru of Richmond and ask for a Ray. I left that afternoon with a new Subaru Ascent and I could not be happier. No care for the customer. I have a 2008 WRX and I have a hole in my radiator hose. I don’t currently have access to a Subaru dealership ship, so I called the parts department and talked with Troy(?) and asked him about the coolant that goes in the Subaru. I’ve always bought my coolant from the dealer, but as a decent mechanic I know that they do not make their own coolant, so I asked if there was anything particular about the coolant. There are only three types of coolant red, green, yellow. Troy refused to tell me which kind of coolant I needed, and said I need to come buy the manufacturer brand. Horrible customer service. More worried about the companies bottom line than trying to help me out. More

Went very well and enjoying the new Ascent David is a real pro. A lot of your ratings weren't very good and was skeptical of using your dealership. I knew going in wanted to buy this car, the David is a real pro. A lot of your ratings weren't very good and was skeptical of using your dealership. I knew going in wanted to buy this car, they have gone up since. I was a willing buyer and he made the process very easy. No complaints about Dave and will have to see how their service department performs down the road. More
