Upon entering the dealership all started out well. Met Joe he asked me what was interested in I sad something with 3rd row. He asked me how much could I pay I told him and he, instead on getting my information to run it, I asked for the asking price for any vehicle he said he had to see what he could work me into. after getting my scores back he tried to sell me everything that I didn't want. Once I said that I could pay more he shows me a nice explorer, I ask him for the price, and he continues to give me the run around. When he goes to the finance office I look up there web site and see a 32000 base price on the truck, I don't say anything as he walked back to the table with a paper in his hand. He tells me the list price is 39000 with trade in balance and a down payment of 10000 the finance price would be 32000. I told him about the website price and I that I felt that 32000 should have been the starting point. I told him I was no longer comfortable doing business with this dealership. A manager came out and tried to fix the situation, but it didn't work. I would NEVER do business with Mike Murphy anything... More
I recently purchased a new F250 King Ranch (6.7 liter diesel) from my local dealer in McDonough, Ga. I’ve owned the truck for about 4 months and have less than 4,000 miles on the vehicle. While on a recent vacation the power steering pump failed and we were nearly stranded had it not been for the courteous GM Ted Rozman and Service Mgr. Rick Ogden at Mike Murphy Ford in Darien, Ga. We were able to limp in to the dealership late on a Friday afternoon with our camper in tow and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us with camper hook ups for our overnight stay and even a car while we were stranded. The following morning (Saturday) the service department went to work on my truck first thing. Knowing they didn’t have the part to complete our repair they removed the needed pump from a new vehicle off of their lot and installed it on my truck so my family and I could continue our trip. In my opinion that’s service above and beyond and we appreciate their southern hospitality. Thank you Mike Murphy Ford and if there is another occasion for me to purchase a Ford vehicle it will be from this dealership regardless! More
It’s been almost two years since my poor experience with Mike Murphy Kia in Brunswick, GA, but felt compelled to write a review after my second poor experience at their Ford dealership in Darien, GA. My first experience at the Kia dealership was when I wanted to purchase an inexpensive used car for commuting. I found a used Chevrolet on the lot listed at $9000; this car probably high retailed at $5500. The salesman took my pitch of $4500 to the sales manager, who said the price was $9000. I asked the sales manager myself what I could purchase the car for; he again said $9000, that's the price. So, I left with my cash in pocket and purchased I nice used car from McKenna Auto. Just recently I visited Mike Murphey I-95 Ford, hoping to have a better experience. Joe Yagel started out cordial enough, so I had my vehicle assessed and told him what I wanted out of the deal. After he spoke with the sales manager (name unknown, tall African American male), the deal wasn't going to look how I wished it to. Joe and I went back and forth a bit on the money and the process, at which time the manager walked out of his office and said "we have a 2010 F-350 for $35000 on the lot, no need to talk about the price for your truck any further". He did this in the open, in front of the rest of the salespeople, and another customer, from a distance of approximately 15 feet, so his voice resonated throughout the sales floor. At that point I told Joe, this is why I didn't buy anything from Mike Murphy the first time, and looks like I made another mistake trying to buy from one of his dealerships again. I told Joe that we were done, and I wanted my keys. When Joe went to get my keys, I asked the name of the manger, Joe told me "No We're Done". So, I retrieved my keys and left the dealership unsatisfied, AGAIN. I will tell anyone reading this, Mike Murphy dealerships in Brunswick and Darien probably have some of the worst customer service I've ever seen in the auto market. I would not buy a car from any dealership this person owns. Mike Murphy may be a nice guy, and he says on his commercials not to leave until you see him if you are not satisfied, but I think it's not a genuine statement. More
My husband and I were looking to trade out of a very bad deal we were given 10 months prior from another dealership. Mike Murphy Ford was able to put us in a practically new F-150 Lariat at an interest rate deal we were given 10 months prior from another dealership. Mike Murphy Ford was able to put us in a practically new F-150 Lariat at an interest rate of 7.54% versus the 23% were were currently at. Needless to say, we were able to get much more vehicle for our money and are thrilled!! Thank you for helping us out of a bad deal from previous dealership!The ease in dealing with your staff was refreshing to say the least.It was nice to not have to jump through hoops to be helped.I felt they genuinely cared about helping us to have a good experience and to renew our faith in car dealerships, which they did!The only complaint I have was the terms of the Certified Pre-Owned contract which was basically mostly absorbed by the new manufactors warranty. I have a GM Certified Pre-Owned contract on my Camaro and am much more pleased with the terms of it than the Ford Certified Pre-Owned contract as the GM contract offers much more.It would be nice if Certified Pre-Owned meant the same at all dealerships..Thanks again for helping us to have a beautiful truck at a fabulous interest rate!!My son is in need of another vehicle soon, and I will be directing him to Mike Murphy Ford in Darien, Ga. Last week I purchased a 2011 Ford Edge and traded in my 2002 GMC Tahoe. Love my new car and the experience at Mike Murphy Ford. The staff all worked together to provide information and assist eachother. Some dealerships are not like that. They are too competitive and make the customer feel uncomfortable. The salesman, Danny, even took me to meet the service staff and on a tour of the service area. He followed up the next day to be sure I was happy with the car. I do not anticipate needing another car for awhile but would go back to Mike Murphy Ford. More
I recently bought a used Ford F250 Lariat truck. They day after my purchase I was proudly driving my shiny new truck when smoke started to come from somewhere under the hood. My first thought, my wife is going to kill me, was quickly replaced with "What am I going to do now". I purchased the truck AS IS. On top of that, I had a really bad expereience at a dealership in Milledgeville on a different truck I had purchased. I left the truck on the side of the road, called a friend and went home. The next morning I met Danny Schepps at the dealership, explained what happened and waited for the I'm sorry I can't help you that I was expecting. Instead Danny said he was sorry for the inconvenience and took me inside to meet Bubby Mukes, telling me they would take care of it. Sure you will I thought. Well . . . with the help of Danny, Bubby and Chris I sure enough was taken care of. The dealership towed my truck at no expense to me. Danny, Bubby and Chris helped me get into an extended warranty so that the work would be covered and because of them - my wife did not kill me! My truck is now running great! Thank you Danny, Bubby and Chris. You guys are amazing and I can't believe how you all went the extra mile to help out a new customer. More
