Worst Dealership I've Ever Experience DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! DO NOT HAVE YOUR VEHICLE SERVICED HERE! The parts department is the only reason I would ever visit this DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! DO NOT HAVE YOUR VEHICLE SERVICED HERE! The parts department is the only reason I would ever visit this dealership. Timmy is the only person in the entire facility worth speaking to. As for the general leadership of the dealership and the service department, they are atrocious. Wayne Maness is by far the worst assistant manager I have ever dealt with and has treated my wife with disrespect on several different occasions, some of which I had spoken to JD (service manager) about and nothing became of it. Back Story: I made an appointment for my wife to have her car serviced at 8:30 AM (oil change, tires that we bought from the dealership mounted and balanced). The gentleman over the phone assured me that it would be finished by 12 PM as my wife had a job interview at 1 PM that day in High Point. No problem he claimed. My wife drops off her car (that we bought from them back in 2013) at 8:30 AM. At 11:30 AM my wife calls to ask about her vehicle. They reply and claim that it is just now being worked on. 3 hours later, after an appointment, they had not even started on the vehicle. They also informed her that the car would not pass inspection due to window tint. This is the same dealership that had passed inspection the year prior with the window tint on. My wife advised them to not perform the inspection, yet they did so regardless and also charged us. My mother was forced to take half a day off to drive my wife to her job interview (I was an hour away at this time, otherwise I would have done so myself). Then upon picking up her vehicle, her wheels had been damaged due to them rushing to get her vehicle serviced. They offered a free oil change for the issues that we had with them. I attempted to call them and wanted Wayne to issue an apology for the way that he has countlessly treated my wife with disrespect. Nothing came of it. I attempted at calling corporate next. They filed the complaint and relayed the message with Midstate. I never received an apology or call back from Midstate. I called corporate again to get an update and was told that Midstate claimed that I misrepresented the situation to corporate. Long story short, Midstate had told corporate that they were no longer going to service our vehicles. I called wanting to speak to the General Manager Elmon Dale. I'm fairly sure that it was him that I spoke with on the phone, but to retain accuracy, I will not guarantee that it was him that I spoke to. It was the gentleman who had been following the case with corporate. I spoke with this man over the phone asking why they had refused service on our vehicles. He claimed that I had falsified information to corporate and that they could never make me happy with the service I received, so they were no longer servicing my vehicle. I have been taking our vehicles there since 2012. 6 years and the only issue I ever had was my wife's interactions with Wayne Maness. Other than that, never an issue. I asked about the free tire rotations that they agreed to with the purchase of both of our vehicle's tires, and they said they would not honor it, although a binding agreement. I asked about the damage caused to my wheels, he claimed they would not be fixing it. I asked if legal steps needed to be taken, he said he would see us in court. This is the management team. Ask yourself, do you really want to take your vehicle to a place that is run by individuals who can not own up to their faults and then refuse service to you when you complain to their superiors? Please do not buy a vehicle from this awful place, and do yourself a favor and NEVER have it serviced there either. More

To give some background, I grew up in sales (parents realtors) and spent 8 years in copier sales before going into the public education sector doing IT. I know the sales game backward and forwards. At the end of the day, you just want to buy a vehicle and they want to sell you one. What makes the difference? Being treated with respect. Being offered value again and again. Leaving the lot with the vehicle you want for a price both parties are happy with. I can assure you that Shauna East is more than a sales person. She is a consultant. Your consultant. She'll fight for you (she did for me), work with you, make invaluable suggestions, even if it DOESN'T benefit her dealership. That is critical. If you are like me and you want to negotiate your deal over the internet first, then PICK MIDSTATE!! They want to work with you. Scientifically speaking, my sample population was half the Toyota dealerships in NC (which is a lot). I emailed all of my sample, called many of them, and visited multiple dealerships in my quest for the best deal I could find, out the door on a Toyota Tacoma. I worked it harder than a presidential campaign and I want to share some of that knowledge with you and why I went with Midstate over all of the other dealerships in NC. I tried big dealerships but the weight of their overhead made them unwilling to deal. I tried small dealerships like Rocky Mount Toyota (THEY ARE TERRIBLE, RUDE, and everything you typically associate with bad sales people!!!!) but not many were willing or able to work with me. I tried Midstate on a whim...and they were just right! Shauna was responsive, listened (a lot of dealerships have this problem, where they tell you what is on the lot instead of listening to what you want), and when I was having some trouble getting the funds needed, she went to bat for me with her GM (a really nice guy) and it was her effort that made this deal happen. Still reading? So maybe you're thinking, ok well that must be nice for you but I live far away from there. Its way too far of a drive for me. This is where VALUE comes into play. I live in Clayton, NC and I drove to Asheboro, NC just to complete a deal with Shauna because she listened, made what I needed to have happen - happen and even waited an extra hour after closing when her drive time was going to be an additional hour. She was even willing to come in on her day off. She was there pre-sale, during the sale, and the largest differentiating factor: POST sale. I get the same level of support. How many dealerships have you gone to that will offer that kind of value add AFTER the sale? For one of the biggest investments, you will make in your life, make sure you work with someone who has your back instead of your wallet. Choose Midstate, they are a dealership that really does care about your experience. I cannot say that enough. The proof is in their people like Shauna East. More

Frank Anderson is a very honest and straight forward salesman. He went out of his way to contact me, even though I do not keep regular office hours! He responded to all of my questions, well after the salesman. He went out of his way to contact me, even though I do not keep regular office hours! My family has bought 4 vehicles from this dealership. I bought a 2000 Tacoma new there for my first personal experience. When I needed another vehicle with more room, this was the only dealership I even co bought a 2000 Tacoma new there for my first personal experience. When I needed another vehicle with more room, this was the only dealership I even considered going to. I went in and was greeted by Jimmy Way. Mr Way is a pushy arrogant snake in the grass who will treat you like an idiot. I remembered him from my first visit. I had hoped Phil Stutts still worked there as he sold me my Tacoma. I avoided Mr. Way like the plague and ended up dealing with another salesman (Mr Robbins I believe). I told him what I was looking for and my price range. I also told him I was not looking to buy that day. He showed me some vehicles, and I test drove 6-8 different vehicles. I took a few days and did my research on the vehicles I had looked at. I went back and told the salesman which vehicles I was still interested in. I took them all for another test drive. I decided on a 4 year old 4Runner. The sticker price was a little more than I had wanted to spend by about $1500. He went and talked to the GM. They knocked the price down to what I wanted to spend, including tax tags and title. My salesman and I ran a Car Fax report (they only sale clean titles) and 20 minutes later I drove away in my 4Runner. I did not need financing for this vehicle, but based on my first experience, they aren't pushy over whether you get it through them or not. I have never had a bad experience at Midstate Toyota other than dodging the one snake of a salesman. I still go there for service and maybe a new FJ Cruiser in the near future. More
