For the first time in 30 years, we made a decision to consider purchasing an auto that was not a Toyota or Honda. We knew we wanted a midsize hybrid car (although not sure of whether it should be a norm consider purchasing an auto that was not a Toyota or Honda. We knew we wanted a midsize hybrid car (although not sure of whether it should be a normal hybrid or plugin hybrid) with cutting edge safety features, and heard about Hyundai's extensive warrantees. Thus we visited Mirak Hyundai in Arlington with it's huge car lot to get acquainted with the features of Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and their Tucson Hybrid SUV. We were introduced to young Louis Dickson, who was excellent at answering our many extensive questions and did a great job of explaining the difference features available in each of the lines and models of those two hybrid cars, both for 2023 and 2024. I really appreciated his level of knowledge and the fact that if he did not know the answer to a question, he stated so and offered to look it up rather than make up an answer, like so many salesmen do. He was very patient with us, given we were very confused by the diverse number of Hyundai offerings between the gas version, plugin version and normal hybrid. He explained what the paddles attached to the steering wheel were for. He showed us how part of the instrument dashboard is replaced with camera view of the side you are turning to, and the amazing panoramic view available from above by combining all cameras output, similar to Google Earth views. Truly amazing! He was easy going, not pushy, and extremely helpful. He then arranged for us to extensively test drive a Sonata Hybrid 2024 and a Tucson Hybrid SUV 2023, and as a result we made a decision to definitely consider going with a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid this time around. Since we did not feel the pictures on the computer screen were true to color, we wanted to view all the colors the car came in by seeing actual cars. Since the number of available cars on the lot were somewhat limited, we decided we needed to view cars at other dealerships. However, we still remain very impressed by Louis Dickson. More

When asked about it, they argued that they can't handle customers who wait which is my only option since I live 25 miles away. In a previous service they said they had rotated the tires but due to marks on the wheel I could tell they hadn't. More

The service rep (Nick K.) berated my wife to tears, accusing her of neglecting to getting regular oil changes so that the repairs would not be covered by the original factory warranty or the extended warranty we had already purchased years before. He then demanded written confirmation for all oil changes before proceeding. When asked how far back we needed to provide documentation , he said SINCE PURCHASE (8 years worth!). We provided 3 years worth of regular oil changes before the service.manager relented, acknowledging that we had not neglected service, but that he still had to check whether the repairs would be covered by the warranty. When asked how long that would take, the Service manager (John A.) responded that it would take anywhere between 2 days to 2 weeks and would not provide any estimation as to how long the repairs would take. When asked what the error code was and what repairs would be necessary, the service manager just emailed a google search results page, the same one I found myself online. Dubious, I called the warranty department myself on my to discover that my call actually preceded the inquiry from the Service department. More significantly, the warranty department was able to easily and simply tell me that any of the potential repairs would in fact covered by the original warranty. When confronted with this information, the service manager continued to argue that we had not changed the oil at proper intervals, suggesting that we should change the oil every 3500 miles. When shown the recommended service interval of 7500 miles from Hyundai's own website,he could not reconcile the obviously conflicting information. After filing complaints and basically forcing the service department to honor the warranty and fix our vehicle, they took THREE WEEKS to complete the repairs and allegedly conduct a 14 point comprehensive inspection. At not time did the service department ever initiate a call to let us know any progress or timeline, even when the alleged repairs were completed. We had to check in with them every few days for the three weeks it took for them to "fix" the problem they could not originally diagnose. When we retook possession of the vehicle, though, it promptly failed an annual safety inspection because the service department failed to notice an inoperative driver side rear brake light. Moreover the work they did created an oil leak that we detected a couple of weeks later once we noticed oil spotting on our driveway that had not occurred before taking our car to Mirak. What's more, the service technician sealed off that area so that the independent mechanic we were forced to take our car to was not able to. access the leak. We are attempting to seek further resolution but have little hope. I'll be filing a BBB complaint to accompany the correspondence to Hyundai's corporate offices domestically and abroad. I will NEVER purchase a car from Mirak or another Hyundai ever again. More
Mirak Chevrolet placed an ad for a 2024 Traverse Limited LT on their website. After going in ready to lease, I was informed that the ad was placed in error and was meant for an LS. They told me the price wa LT on their website. After going in ready to lease, I was informed that the ad was placed in error and was meant for an LS. They told me the price was actually over $200 higher than what was advertised. Chuck and Doug were nice and pleasant to work with, so I get the feeling that the issue is with management, as they were completely unwilling to negotiate on the price. My experience was very frustrating as I thought I could finalize a deal, but instead was lured in by false advertising. More
