My mistake in not asking price for 30,000 mile checkup - got socked with $428, incl. tx Afterwards found other dealer in area, Milton Ruben, charged about $270 vs. Richards $370 - my fault for not asking f got socked with $428, incl. tx Afterwards found other dealer in area, Milton Ruben, charged about $270 vs. Richards $370 - my fault for not asking first - they never gave estimate, either = just gave me something to sign. When car returned I only saw cashier and she of course had no idea why it was so expensive - they also had called me during service and said it needed two tires, which they could supply for $386 - I told them to forget it. They screwed up the clock, so it was running about 2 3/4 hr. fast - makes me wonder what else they screwed up or didn't do during service. I had problems with them in attempting to buy the car in the first place - it's a 2010 Sienna - so I ended up buying at Milton Ruben = went to Richards for this service because it's a lot closer to my house. I've already said I wouldn't go back to buy, now I won't go back for service, either. Transmitted all this to Toyota when they sent survey on experience but it probably will just get thrown out.Toyota makes some of best cars (this one is our 6th) but has some of the worst dealers. It took several round trips (40 miles each) to get the work finally done. Day one they couldn't do a thing-- no parts. Day 2 Saturday went to pick it up found out they didn't work on it at all that day I work finally done. Day one they couldn't do a thing-- no parts. Day 2 Saturday went to pick it up found out they didn't work on it at all that day I asked if it was not worked on because the parts weren't in they said no it was because there wasn't a Tacoma guy there that day.Come back Monday. When I asked if the parts had come in- they honestly did not know.Cost me a perfectly fine Saturday.Day 3 Check engine light came back on Day 4 check engine light came back on Day 5 check engine light came back on. each time it cost 90, or 600 more etc. It ended up costing me a fortune. Asked for a discount and even though they said I got a discount I ended up paying the same or a little bit more. Watch out for Phil. More
The last visit to Bob Richards was for scheduled maintenance. My wife took the car, a 2007 Toyota Corolla, in and was told she needed to put in a new water pump (they said it was leaking) to the tun maintenance. My wife took the car, a 2007 Toyota Corolla, in and was told she needed to put in a new water pump (they said it was leaking) to the tune of about $450. Just another example of a shady dealer trying to put something over on their customer. This car has never leaked, or ran hot in the two years I've had it. I bought two cars from these people in the last 3 years and I will never deal with them again. The 1st trip out was good, but the last vehicle I bought was from a slick talking salesman who screwed me. I have called these people several times, as well as emailed them asking to be taken off their mailing list as this dealership sickens me. Needless to say I keep getting their mailings. I you want to get screwed, deal with Bob Richards Toyota. You won't even get a kiss afterwards. :) More
