I flew out from New Jersey to help my army son buy a used car to get around Fort Carson/Colorado in June 2012. Al Serra's web-site states they will give a $500 military discount (with military ID) off you car to get around Fort Carson/Colorado in June 2012. Al Serra's web-site states they will give a $500 military discount (with military ID) off your lowest negotiated price (used or new). I meet the woman in charge of military sales on Fort Carson who gave me directions to Al Serra and the names of the salesmen I was supposed to meet. According to her they were all prior military and had appreciation for the soldiers of today and would work with us. I did my homework based upon Al Serra's web-site, my price range was $4000-$6000 and I was paying cash. I had four vehicles in mind with all of the specs, car-fax, etc. I took my son with me along with his military ID. I knew I was in trouble with Al Serra when I got there because all of the cars I wanted to look at/possibly purchase were all sold that same morning!! Talk about your bait and switch tactics! They had nothing in my price range, I had to go up another $1000 to the $7000 price range and all they had was a 2005 Kia Spectra EX with 98K miles. Mechanically, from what I could tell, the car was in pretty decent shape, engine looked good, oils were not gritty or smelled burnt and fairly decent tires. The car pulled to the right when driving and applying the brakes, the paint and chrome were peeling and chipping, a lot of knicks and dents over most of the car and there was damage to the trunk (as if someone hit it or the car backed into something). It came with a two month powertrain warranty. I tried my best to get a better price ( I was to be in Colorado only four days) and the best hey could do was $6879, plus $499 for dealer prep (a state law that we do not have in NJ) plus sales tax, etc. I then asked about the military discount and I was told that there was "no wiggle room". My time was limited, my choices then became to seek out another used car dealer who did not give military discounts (which meant nothing) ...I had no time o research any more cars...or not buy a car. I chose to buy the car for the sake of my son. The only military green Al Serra is concerned with is the color of money. I will be reporting this to the Colorado Better Business Bureau for false advertising. More
the deal was a great deal. Got exactly what I needed. The post-deal actions were amatuerish at best. Completely uncoordinated and unorganized. Had to get a temp tag renewal - they didn't get the paperwork post-deal actions were amatuerish at best. Completely uncoordinated and unorganized. As I have discussed with several employees including manager, my issue was with how the tech decided to play with my vehicle. I was told that this happens often with cop cars and people like to play wit manager, my issue was with how the tech decided to play with my vehicle. I came in to the dealership and had a list of the way I I came in to the dealership and had a list of the way I wanted to buy a car .I even had a time limit that I could stay at the dealership. They both I came in to the dealership and had a list of the way I wanted to buy a car .I even had a time limit that I could stay at the dealership. They both worked hard to meet the needs that I had and to get me out on time. I know I asked for crazy things to get done while were talking about price, but they did it . Never told me no. Always kept just doing what I needed done. They were both so friendly and made you feel like it was a family place. I don't think I ever had a dealership work so hard for ME. I will always shop Stan at Al Serra in Colorado springs. It was far from our house but well worth it, Thanks for a great experience guys!!!!! Robin More
Vehicle sold by another salesman while on freeze for shop evaluation. At least for us. Played by their rules for sale, had cash, trade and still lost deal. Don't give personal informati evaluation. At least for us. Played by their rules for sale, had cash, trade and still lost deal. Don't give personal information to them before agreeing to sale. Not professional in the least, no communication between sales or who knows what. Very bad experience with sales department, salesman was good, interested in making sale but ended up losing commission. More

16 July 2011 @ 0800. I just bought a 2011 silverado not a week ago and had two lights come on already (traction control and abs). I made an appointment to bring it in and was here an hour before they opened week ago and had two lights come on already (traction control and abs). I made an appointment to bring it in and was here an hour before they opened. They checked me in and told me to have a seat in the waiting room. Two hours later I went outside and seen my truck sitting in the parking lot. I asked the cashier if my truck was done and was told it was a warrantee item and I'd have to go out on the floor and find out. I went out there and talked to the manager in the service department if my truck was done and he looked at me and was like NO.... Looking a little puzzled. Next thing I know I see my truck come through the bay kinda fast and parked behind me. Duane the main manager came up to me and asked me how things are going and I told him what had happened and he I guess fixed it, but if I hadn't went out to smoke my truck would have sit out there no tellin how long. VERY VERY unsatisfied. Some of these people need to get their head out there south end and do there job. More
This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a car dealership. My husband and I went in to purchase a 2011 Equinox, and we had done our research and knew exactly what we wanted, and what the de a car dealership. My husband and I went in to purchase a 2011 Equinox, and we had done our research and knew exactly what we wanted, and what the dealer price was. First off, Danny tried to tell us that Kelly Blue Book is barely even a loose guideline that dealers don't even use for trade in value. Then, despite telling him what we were looking for he tried to sell us a used 2009 Equinox that had more miles on it than my 2007 Focus. It was completely stained on the inside, was missing pieces of the upholstery and cupholders, and was basically just a piece of crap. On top of that, they told us they had our vehicle, had as sign all the paper work at a set monthly payment, then sold the car out from under us the next day before we could pick it up. After this, they couldn't find our exact match, and told us that we would have to pay a 1500 dollar fee to have one shipped in from 1,000 miles away. Then they mentioned that this Equinox actually cost 3,000 more than the one we bought, but that was the best they could do. Bait and Switch, what? I also forgot to mention that through this whole week, Danny or Steve did not ONCE call us to let us know what was going on. We had to call them daily for any updates or information. At one point Steve even HUNG UP on my husband. We refused their deal after all this bull, and called Stevenson Chevrolet up in Lakewood. Within a day he had called us 3 times to keep us updated, and then found our exact car only 20 miles away. He also told us that had we signed the contract and left with the vehicle Danny had sold us, that our monthly payment would have raised over 100.00 once it went to the bank, and that Danny was having us sign a deal he knew wasn't going to be kept. Overall, stay AWAY from Al Serra Chevrolet. Even the two managers wouldn't bother to call us back after promising too. This whole dealership is just a corrupt buyer beware. STAY AWAY. More
