Buyer Beware – Terrible Experience with Mike Maroone South Our experience with Mike Maroone South was an absolute nightmare. We purchased a used Jeep represented as a one-private-owner vehicle, only South Our experience with Mike Maroone South was an absolute nightmare. We purchased a used Jeep represented as a one-private-owner vehicle, only to discover after the sale, through a deeper VIN history investigation, that it had actually been a fleet rental. Had we known this beforehand, it would have absolutely affected our decision. The problems didn't stop there. We discovered evidence of previous damage and improper repairs, including lights literally taped into place. The vehicle was also missing its auxiliary battery, leaving live electrical wires in the inner fender area and creating a potential fire hazard. When we brought this to the dealership's attention, they refused to repair it. Their used-car inspection appears to have been nothing more than a pencil-whipping exercise. We also purchased an extended warranty that proved about as useful as a tail-light warranty, as faults related to improperly performed previous repairs were excluded from coverage. Within eight months, we were forced to sell the Jeep at a negative-equity loss just to get out from under this mess. Sales manager Andrew and his team oversaw a transaction that left us with a misrepresented vehicle, questionable repairs, safety concerns, and a substantial financial loss. We should not have had to investigate the vehicle's true history ourselves after the sale. Used vehicles aren't expected to be perfect, but honest representation, competent inspections, and accountability are basic expectations. Mike Maroone South failed us on all three. Do your own VIN research, get an independent inspection, and read every warranty exclusion before buying here. They have permanently lost our trust and our business. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. More
