Check engine light was on my Toyota Highlander so I brought it in. They told me I needed $1,400 worth of work and that my water pump was bad. I have a vehicle that is less than 4 years old with 50,000 miles. I perform regular maintenance. Each time I bring my vehicle in for routine service, I am told that it needs other maintenance. For exam 50,000 miles. I perform regular maintenance. Each time I bring my vehicle in for routine service, I am told that it needs other maintenance. For example, I have new tires that have 10K on them and was told I need to replace them. I've been told I need alignment and flushing of systems and denied the work, then am told the next time that there isn't anything wrong. I've witnessed this type of "solicitation" with other customers awaiting service. On my last visit, the service tech told me that they keep a record of the services I deny and it will hurt my vehicle trade-in value. I find this treatment of the customer to be intimidating and harassing. More
