Criminal. I bought my car and extended warranty from a dealership out of state. They said that the warranty couldn't be found. They were going to charge me a diagnostic fee of $600 for my "3 concerns." I went home, found the warranty and emailed the cover sheet. The response: "Please let me know when you would like to schedule an appointment for diagnosis. We will need you to drop off the vehicle as it is not a quick diagnosis. You will still need to approve $600(plus tax and shop fees) of diagnosis. Once we diagnose, I will call your warranty company to place a claim. If your warranty company covers the repair, I will not charge you, unless there is a deductible with the warranty company. If we diagnose and the warranty does not cover the repairs, then the decision is up to you. If you decide to do repairs, I will only charge you for repairs. But if the warranty company does not cover repairs, and you decline the repairs, I will have to charge you the $600 plus tax and fees. When ready to schedule the appointment please call 321-453-1313." Did you notice "YOUR (my emphasis) warranty company"! What??!! I bought the warranty from Toyota. No matter what, you are ripped off. If you decide that you can fix it cheaper, you still pay at $200 an hour for the "3 concerns" because it takes one hour each to diagnose. Come on! I bought the extended warranty from Toyota to have peace of mind when it comes to repairs, not to have to worry about being ripped off. I left. More
The service department is the worse-run operation on the planet. They can't be bothered to check the Toyota SERVICE Bulletins to see if any apply to the vehicle YOU BOUGHT FROM THEM. Mike Erdman Toyota, BAD, Over a week ago I booked two cars to go in for service. A 2018 RAV4 for oil change and tire rotation. Oil change quoted 54.xx and rotate tires 22.xx plus tax. The other car a 20 cars to go in for service. A 2018 RAV4 for oil change and tire rotation. Oil change quoted 54.xx and rotate tires 22.xx plus tax. The other car a 2017 Lexus RX350 quoted 54.xx Oil and 22.xx tire rotation. We got there yesterday. They politely asked us to have a seat and they would look over the cars. The service advisor came back in and told us each car would be over 100.00. I asked him what happened to the 54.xx and 22.xx total around 80 I figured total each car including tax. He said there is a shop charge. This is not explained to you on the phone. I was very angry. I am already there and my time is valuable. I woud have walked right out. I told the general manager of my displeasure, but very nicely blown off. When the cars were done he took a little off. So instead of doing both cars for 160 I figured, he did both for 165.00, but wait..When I got home, he did not rotate the tires on the RAV4, just the Lexus. So I called today and to have the tires rotated only, it now would be 39.,00. I asked why, it should have been the 22 with the job. Well, guess there is another shop charge. Bottom Line, when you call Mike Erdman for a price of a job, get the full price, the job, the SHOP FEE, whatever that could be, I guess whatever they want it to be, and tax. I would not go back to Mike Erdman for anything. Mike, I hope you read this and advise your telephone sales people to tell the full story. More
I went for my 125k inspection. i knew,a couple of problem already but I thought it would be good to do so. What a disappointment! They wanted over 600$ to change my sparkplug! Did not see that my headlight are disconnected, did not see a twist in my front right brake line, but wanted to flush all liquids without testing, ( coolant was done last year). I will never go back there again. More
Took my 2016 Tacoma in due to peeling paint issues. Was notified that truck has a recall for a 3rd brake light which was leaking. Proceeded with light repair in which they charged me for parts stating my l notified that truck has a recall for a 3rd brake light which was leaking. Proceeded with light repair in which they charged me for parts stating my light was cracked. When I picked up vehicle on Friday evening the seat belts would not retract. Service tech states headliner was never removed to repair light, which is a lie, as you cannot repair this issue without at least partial removal of headliner. Headliner was not installed properly behind molding/weatherstripping there are gouge/tool marks on plastics inside cab, the belt height adjusters now do not work. I had to disassemble to fix seatbelts so they would retract. I fixed the weatherstripping issues myself. The only remedy the tech had was “we didn’t touch the seatbelts but we’ll submit it to Toyota”. Contacted the service manager via phone, no apologies no remedies, just sent him some pictures. This dealership returned my vehicle in an unsafe condition, as the seatbelts were inoperable. They failed to complete the recall repair, scarred up my interior, snagged my seat covers in two places, didn’t retighten coat hooks, charged me for parts, the absolute worst repair experience ever. And on top of all this, I wasn’t going in for a light repair and they still have never given me ANY resolution on my peeling paint and clear coat issue. Service tech unqualified, service manager unsympathetic and acts like you’re bothering him. They advised me that my vehicle would be in the shop for a month, however after 8 days they were threatening to charge me rental fees on their loaner vehicle. I will be contacting Toyotas 800 number for resolution, if you happen to read this review, buyer/owner beware!!! The service department damaged my vehicle while being in for a recall and refuse to fix it unless done at their body shop which I had a horrible experience with in the past. Initially they agreed to let me take it to a body shop that they have worked with before only to back out after I dropped my vehicle off. It has been 5 weeks since they damaged my vehicle and it's still not been fixed. From what I'm told by the service department, Mr. Erdman himself denied the repair. This is not the first or the second time Erdman has damaged one of my vehicles but it is the last. I have bought 4 brand new Toyotas from Erdman Toyota and will never step foot back on their lot.
