Mike Erdman Toyota of Merritt Island Review - My wife and I were very impressed with salesman Richard Nail's extensive knowledge of all of the features of the Toyota line. We first met Richard in July 2012, I were very impressed with salesman Richard Nail's extensive knowledge of all of the features of the Toyota line. We first met Richard in July 2012, in what had to be the hottest day of the year. We explained that we were only looking at new cars, and would not be purchasing one until December. Richard quickly grabbed a few sets of car keys and he introduced us to three different Toyota models. All three of us were sweating bullets in the noonday sun, but Richard's friendly demeanor never waned. We were given a price on a Camry in a short amount of time. Besides a single friendly email reminder, we were NOT pressured or bombarded with emails and phone calls. I followed through with my commitment to look at, and test drive a few other cars from three other car dealerships in Brevard County. For reasons beyond my comprehension, most of the OTHER dealerships were unable to give me a price on a car in a short amount of time, and I quickly grew tired of the OTHER dealers misinformation, and high pressure sales tactics. When we returned to Mike Erdman's Toyota in December, we were happy to be greeted by Richard Nail once again. I know it may sound corny, but after dealing with all of the OTHER dealerships and salesmen, I felt as if I had re-connected with a long-lost friend. Richard showed us a total of three Toyota Prius', and we decided to buy a 2012 Toyota Prius V Hybrid with the option 3 package. We received a fair price on our 12 year old car. The signing of all of the paperwork took far longer than I had expected, but this was the first new car that I had purchased in the past 19 years, and friends tell me that this is the norm at ALL of the dealerships. After the purchase, Richard Nail took the time to help me sync my smartphone with the Prius' hands-free stereo system. My only complaint with this Prius model is that the audio fading feature of the stereo (from the front of the car to the back of the car) produces a bass-y, almost muffled sound out of the rear door speakers. You can correct this with the equalizer control, but when I fade the music back to the front, I need to re-adjust the levels again. A few days after the sale, I returned to the dealership, and Richard Nail and I checked a stereo in another new Prius and noticed the same results, so I assume this is how the system was designed. I can live with the audio as it is, but I will be evaluating the audio more carefully in my next new-car purchase! I thought that I also had a problem with the interior dome light not illuminating when the door was opened, but Richard helpfully showed me that the Prius' dome lights are controlled by TWO different switches in this car. I feel confident that whatever questions that I have about this car can be quickly answered. In retrospect, I am pleased with my decision to buy from Mike Edrman's Toyota, and especially pleased with my interactions with Richard Nail. More
Buying a car is an experience to generally be avoided at all costs. My interaction with Mike Erdman, represented by Dan and Jason was excellent from start to finish. From the get-go, I felt like I had their attention and was treated courteously. I did a couple of phone inquiries with them and came in to see them. They made me a fair offer for my car and offered a reasonable discount off a new one. I think I could have bought a car for less by shopping around, and I probably left some money on the table at Erdman, however I believe it was a fair transaction, and I expect to have work done there in the future and may even buy another car at some point, and I'd rather leave on even terms having established a relationship of mutual respect. I rate the dealership very highly based on my contacts thus far. More

My recent experience with Mike Erdman made me a believer in having my car repaired at a dealership. I was always told not to get my car fixed at a dealership because it would not only cost more than other in having my car repaired at a dealership. I was always told not to get my car fixed at a dealership because it would not only cost more than other places but that I would be "taken". I brought my car in for a diagnostic test ($39.95) because of a problem with my gas tank. I also had called ahead to get a price for a wheel alignment. Mr. Kirby quoted $79.95 so I decided not to get it done there because Tire Kingdom on US 1 in Cocoa was offering a coupon offer for $59.95. When I arrived Mr. Kirby asked me about having the alignment done. When I told him it was cheaper in Cocoa he offered to match the price. I was thrilled and decided to get the alignment done at the same time as the diagnostic test. Mr. Kirby called me later to explain there were several other things wrong with my car. He also told me what was wrong with my gas tank and said it would cost anywhere from $40 to $800. I believe mine was about $540. I had a small problem after it was repaired and I took it back and was greeted by Mr. Kirby who explained everything to me. I was a bit leary and told him so. He wanted me to be happy so he asked me to speak with John Ball, Service Manager. Mr. Ball drew pictures & explained everything they had to do. He spent whatever time he needed to convince me that what he was telling me was to my satisfaction. Mr. Ball & Mr. Kirby had me leave my car overnight & the next day but gave me a beautiful Camry to drive while my car was being repaired. Mr. Kirby was very attentive and followed up with me on everything. He referred me to Mr. Ball when I felt skeptical about the dealership. Mr. Ball in turn gave me the necessary answers to my questions and worked with me in a very kind manner. Both Mr. Kirby and Mr. Ball are an asset to Mike Erdman Toyota & very professional. I had a problem with my breaks and when visited the store I was not happy withthe way the sales rep was trying to add more to the coast of repair and trying to deal and wheel with me.
