The changed the terms of the loan after closing I purchased a 2014 Toyota Camry from Mike Erdman & was forced to finance it through Southeast Toyota Finance. The amount of the loan that I signed for I purchased a 2014 Toyota Camry from Mike Erdman & was forced to finance it through Southeast Toyota Finance. The amount of the loan that I signed for was $18,791.83. Sometime after I left the dealership & before I received my first statement, the amount of the principle became $18,916.83. Southeast Toyota Finance representative said the $125 was paid to the dealer on my behalf and, as such, was added to the loan. I did NOT authorize this “after sale” $125 transaction and, in the strongest possible terms, consider it to be fraud. The amount listed in the “truth-in-lending, Amount Financed” disclosure column is $18,791.83. When I questioned the dealer (“Paul” in their Business Office), he said, “it’s a system charge” and hangs up the phone. Changing terms (or arbitrarily increasing the loan amount) after closing is illegal and is protected by the Truth in Lending Act of 1968 (Consumer Credit Protection Act). As such, I've filed a formal complaint against Southeast Toyota Finance (through www.consumerfinance.gov) and was told to expect up to two weeks for further assistance. I believe the quicker way to resolve this would be to have the dealership return the $125 because this is where the charge originated. This charge is FRAUD. Plain and simple. The extra $125 was never even discussed. I circled the number that was to be financed more than once. The price of the car was very fair, in my opinion, and I would have gladly paid the extra $125, as some fee, if they had discussed it ahead of time. But the way this $125 was collected is the equivalent of stealing. More

After going to Mike Erdman Toyota and working with Dan I would not trade the experience for any other. I have been a Volvo customer since 2002 and always had great experiences. Until now I wasn't sure the customer attention could be matched. I will follow up in 6 months for a secondary review to see how the follow on customer satisfaction carries on. Over all the entire staff was very friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in the door. Dan was respectful of my needs and provided me ample time to make a final decision as well followed up during the process as needed to make sure I was still interested. V/R Chris More

A week ago, I was in the market to buy a car, on my internet search I got in touch with Robert Shoff the Internet Sales Manager of Mike Erdman Toyota in Merritt Island, Florida and set up a time to pay them a visit. At the dealership Dan Laprade introduced himself to me and show me the cars and in about an hour I bought a new 2014 Toyota Corolla L from Dan. During the entire process, I was comfortable, treated with courtesy and respect and both Dan and Rob proved to be cooperative and intelligent in finding solutions. At the dealership, I realized that Toyota has implemented and enforced its quality assurance program in sales and services with their focus on customer service and customer satisfaction. My experience tells me to advise any buyer who is in my situation a week ago, looking to buy a reliable good quality car at a good value is to talk with Rob and Dan at Mike Erdman Toyota in Merritt Island, Florida, they will be glad that they did. A1 Experience! I was on the hunt for a Nissan Rogue when I left the house. On my way to the Nissan dealership I stopped in at Mike Erdman Toyota and was greeted by I was on the hunt for a Nissan Rogue when I left the house. On my way to the Nissan dealership I stopped in at Mike Erdman Toyota and was greeted by Speer Mabry. He lead me on a well routed test drive in the Rav4 and pointed out all its significant features. I had the distinct feeling that he was well versed in everything Toyota....which was a good thing! I informed him that I was originally considering the Nissan Rogue and that I was headed to Mike Erdman's Nissan dealership as well. Mr. Mabry was very understandable and displayed no pressure which I greatly appreciated. I then test drove the Rogue. The salesman was quite pleasant and informative as well. Two things lead me back to the Toyota dealership. Toyota was offering a significant pricing incentive, and the second was Mr. Mabry's helpfulness, lack of pressure, and overall personality. I've purchased many new cars in my lifetime and I must say that this was one of the more pleasant experiences I've had with such a task. I would recommend Mr. Mabry and the dealership to anyone.
