We agreed on price and terms, they sent me a purchase agreement, I had to get my own financing because it was an older vehicle, so I got my own financing approved and ready to go, I had a multi-day trip planned and a date set and they sold my vehicle to someone else. It's a good thing I wasn't on my way to get it when this happened! That's after putting up with some pretty poor attitudes from the people I was dealing with to begin with. If I wasn't so fixated on that one vehicle they would have never had my business to begin with. One more item of note -- after we had agreed on the price they tried to up the price on the buyers agreement by $234. hoping I wouldn't notice. Do yourself a favor... buy a car from someone else, they don't deserve my business or yours. More
Worst dealership EVER DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM. Purchased a new Camaro from them last year. Took it in to have the remote start installed. Was told the car would be ready DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM. Purchased a new Camaro from them last year. Took it in to have the remote start installed. Was told the car would be ready at this time. Guess what didn't make the delivery time. Ok I'll give you one. Took the car back in for oil change which was part of purchasing the vehicle. Treated like garbage and the service writer was rude. Fast forward to the next oil change. Wife took the car in. Service writer treated wife badly and made a couple remarks to her. I went in the next day to talk to said service writer about the way he treated my wife. If I wouldn't have went to jail I'd have smacked him like his momma should have. Will never purchase from them again. Recommended to fellow workers and everyone I know not to go. More

Had a wonderful experience I was looking to buy a new car but I really didn't won't to go though the long time it would take just to see if I would be approved for a car. But so I was looking to buy a new car but I really didn't won't to go though the long time it would take just to see if I would be approved for a car. But so some reason I was put in contact with a lady by the name of Karla M. Bradford and I first talk with her over the phone and explain my situation to her and one thing she did do was listen to me and my concerns about even buying a new car. But then she ask if I could just come buy and speak with her in person and made an appointment to meet with her. Once I got there there was a very big smile on her face and just one of the friendliest person I have ever meet in a dealership and she made everything so easy and very understanding for me to make up my mind on buying a new car. And once I had my mind made up she did everything in her power to make sure I left there in a new car and not the same old 2005 dodge van I drove out there. I have to say this was the first time I have ever had a wonderful time in buying a new car. And even more she always stay in contact with me even after I have got my new car something no other dealer have ever done for me. Thank you so much Karla for all you have done for me. More
Pushed off on to too many people. The staff seemed lost At first the service seemed fine, just like any other dealership. We found the exact car we wanted online before ever stepping foot into the door so that made their job easier. They were friendly, the first person we dealt with was nice but would not give us any direct answers, it took an hour for him to even verify that the vehicle was even available still and kept insisting to run our credit before ensuring the car was even up for sale still. He just kept saying, I am pretty sure it is. We had to come back the next day because they were taking so long with getting things together and said they would call us when they had the paperwork for us, long story short they didn't call us back I had to call them the next morning. We signed everything did the down payment and were handed the keys, when we were about to leave they stopped us and said paperwork was done wrong and stopped us from leaving. We had to leave without our already paid for car and return the next day to pick it up. Once we finally got our car they called us multiple times and even texted us saying we needed to come in That day to resign some papers so that they could finish our contract they had misfiled. Finally, when it comes time to register our car with actual plates after we've had it almost a month the BMV says our paperwork hasn't been filled. We call the dealer to get this settled and after being transferred twice I end up with Tammy in financing. She tries brushing it off like it isn't their fault and says we need to have both of our supervisors call to verify our employment (great time to tell us). I get put on hold multiple times and am told they will call me back when they figure it out in about 15-30 mins, well an hour and half passes before I finally receive a phone call and they say they're processing the paperwork. I ask for temporary plates since ours are now expired because of them and they give me a hard time about it and Again say they will call me back. All and all it was a bad experience and I have never had so many issues buying a car before. Thankfully the car at least runs well and everybody else we dealt with was friendly and tried helping, but it was just a mess dealing with the finance department as well as the finance company. More
Great experience! I drove to this dealer because of a billboard I saw. I wanted to see if I qualified for a car loan on my own given the fact I don't have an establishe I drove to this dealer because of a billboard I saw. I wanted to see if I qualified for a car loan on my own given the fact I don't have an established credit line so I didn't know if I was going to need a cosigner or not. Anyways the person that greeted me was Karla. She was amazing, very professional and helpful. She showed me the options of what I could possibly qualify for. I was ecstatic when I was approved for the 2014 Chevy cruze! The best part no co-signer needed. As a first time car buyer I couldn't have been happier with the experience. Karla explained everything to me and even helped me get my insurance with state farm. I recommend this dealer to everyone and anyone looking to buy a car I'm sure that you will have the same great experience I did. Thank you Mike Anderson Chevrolet and Karla for my beautiful car! More
Yikes I am overall displeased with the experience I have had at the dealership. I encountered several issues with the service department due to poor communi I am overall displeased with the experience I have had at the dealership. I encountered several issues with the service department due to poor communication and found this to be a very negative car buying experience. After receiving my first survey in which I had to rate the sales experience, I realized that I did not receive several important items that apparently are required throughout the selling experience. I was not shown inventory, did not receive an offer to schedule my next service visit, did not receive a tour of the facilities, etc. After reading the survey and realizing that my sales person did not do what was required of him, I was extremely disappointed. Fast forward to my first encounter with the service department. To add to my frustration, I was told that my car would be ready on a certain day and it was not. The service department had no idea what happened and it took them 45 minutes to find my UNSERVICED car. The communication was absolutely horrible. My sales person had no idea what happened with the vehicle and everyone seemed to be completely reactive rather than proactive. However, their communication seemed to be quite efficient when it came to putting in a claim for the loaner vehicle I received. I FREQUENTLY heard from the service department because of the claim that I had to file due to hitting a pothole in the loaner vehicle I was given. The sole focus seemed to be on resolving that issue instead of focusing on the fact that I had been lied to regarding when my car was being serviced and horrible communication between me, the service department, and my sales person. Once I was finally able to get my car re-scheduled (at least two weeks later) to be serviced, I received my car back the same day. Initially, I thought that it was an improvement from my previous encounter but upon inspection of my vehicle I found that it was a rushed job and that I also had SCRATCHES on my driver door. It would appear that the service department rushed to get my car finished so that I would not have to stay in one of their loaner vehicles (which they were hesitant to give me). I would have much rather WALKED HOME than to have someone rush on my vehicle just so I wouldn't have their loaner for long. I was so disgusted that I asked my fiance to take the car back so that I would not have to deal with the service department anymore. I will also add that I have not heard back from my sales person (while I was waiting on my car to be serviced I inquired about black rims for my vehicle. I was told that I would receive a call back from my sales person with more information and, of course, I have not). When it comes to a standard of quality, the dealership does not appear to have any. I do appreciate Tom, the manager, and Tammy, the finance director, as they were very professional and pleasant throughout this experience. Overall, I will not recommend this dealership to ANYONE. Throughout this ordeal I strongly considered returning my vehicle and going somewhere else. I consider this to be the worst car buying experience that I have ever endured and will look to have my car serviced at the Chicago location for future needs. I would STRONGLY advise that Mike Anderson Chevrolet of Merrillville focus on quality instead of quantity. Yes, you may sell a ton of units but at the end of the day, are your customers completely satisfied with the EXPERIENCE? As a customer, I certainly can say that I am not. More
Turned over to an incompetent swindler Once my husband and I felt sure that we were ready to make a commitment to purchase a Chevy Spark, my decision basically came down to whether or not t Once my husband and I felt sure that we were ready to make a commitment to purchase a Chevy Spark, my decision basically came down to whether or not to pay extra for the LT (which was in the color I adored and had more features) or just go with the LS, which was very basic in features and color. When we arrived, our original sales rep (who was okay) was busy with another customer and turned us over to a guy who kept side-stepping my requests for a quote on how much they were willing to come down on the price, claiming he could't give me a price without first factoring in my credit score. At first I refused to let him run it--since WHEN do you need credit info to negotiate a selling price? After I finally allowed them to run my credit and my husband's, he returned to get our SSNs three different times because he kept saying he had to redo this or that because he forgot to enter in the numbers, blah, blah--one lame, dismissive answer for every question I asked whenever he did something that looked fishy. Each time he left us we sat in his cubicle for 20-30 minutes at a time--AND he still kept glazing over my requests to come down on the price--claiming that they didn't have any rebates online that would allow it. Online rebates? Get real. Did he think I was dumb enough to buy a car for the asking price? Anyway, after I decided that I was unwilling to pay what they were asking for the LT, I asked him to pull up the LS, with was $2000 cheaper--this took another 2 hours with him repeatedly ignoring my requests to negotiate the price. Instead, he attempted to push us through the buying process whether I said I was buying or not. After claiming that there was a problem pulling up my credit score, he said he would try to go off of my husband's score, which was excellent--yet he still left us waiting, until nearly FOUR HOURS had passed, collectively. Just as I told my husband I was sick of being there and wanted to leave, the guy pops up saying "CONGRATULATIONS! It went through!" Great, what's my score? "Oh, I'm not allowed that information. I'm not bonded for that. Let me hand you off to our financier who can give you all those details." I wanted to know why he was bonded to hand us my husband's score but suddenly not privy to mine. He shooed away my questions instead, saying the "drama" was over and not to worry about it. Then he disappeared and left us waiting once again. Needless to say, we chose to ditch the place five minutes into that wait. Afterwards, our phones blew up with calls asking what happened and why we left and that we were set up for payments in the $240s--a whopping $10 less than a car that was $2000 MORE. Please... We went to Christenson Chevy in Highland this morning and had a great experience with them. I got my little Spark LS for $200 less than Anderson was offering. No fast-talking B.S., quick and painless. The best part? No problem pulling up my score and I walked out with $187 payments. Up yours, Anderson Chevy. We know where we WON'T be going for my husband's car next year. We don't do business with people who insult our intelligence or waste our time. More
