Based on 30+ years of buying cars, I have come to detest going to car lots and dealing with pushy, deceitful salesmen. I actually get PTSD-like anxiety of even thinking about visiting a dealership. So whe going to car lots and dealing with pushy, deceitful salesmen. I actually get PTSD-like anxiety of even thinking about visiting a dealership. So when my wife needed a new car, I insisted on CALLING a dealership to ask pointed questions. This way I could just hang up and not deal with pressure tactics or confrontation. So I called MAG and a young man named Ryan Thacker answered. I asked one question, he answered it, and I said “Thank you, that’s all I needed”. It was a test to see if he would high pressure me into coming in. Instead, he pleasantly thanked me and let it go. So I called back with more questions. I found Ryan to be to be VERY knowledgeable about the cars and financing, but he was also completely HONEST, meaning his answers were absolutely transparent with no back-peddling, no excuse-making, no trying to hide the facts. Based on his style, his knowledge, and his honesty, I decided to make the trip to Dublin. There was absolutely no pressure of any kind. Ryan was pleasant, friendly, very humorous, and easy to talk to. It was more like a casual conversation with a neighbor, not a car salesman. Ryan took his time with us, thoroughly answered all questions, and never once made us feel rushed or pressured in any way. His humor went a long way to make the experience light and easy. I was also pleasantly surprised to have follow up texts from him to ask how we are enjoying the new car. I had additional questions that he answered as well. All in all, I must admit that Ryan Thacker completely changed my mind about the car buying experience. It was a pleasure to work with him, and I feel he is a credit to the MAG organization. I will gladly and confidently refer people to him. I only hope he is still there when I return in 3 more years to return my lease!
