Midway Nissan responded

First and foremost to you as my customer, I apologize for the actions of my salesperson. They are my responsibility. For the record, that individual no longer works for my organization, partly in fact to your feedback. I do not in any way condone this behavior. As the General Manager of Midway Nissan, I realize that at times, both miscommunication and misrepresentation can occur. In this particular case, it appears that one of my employees created ambiguity and mislead you. This quickly became a distasteful situation. I have reached out to you in an attempt to personally rectify the situation amicably but have obviously failed in these attempts. Below I have included the detailed histories which outline my previous efforts. I feel terribly that I was unable to create resolve. I completely understand your reservations of doing further business and I will move forward, using this situation as a learning tool for us all to reflect on. Thank you for your time, feedback and consideration. Built on trust and great service. What is it you would propose that would enable us to build a bridge and move forward? Tm Sent from my iPad ______________________________________________________________________________ On Jun 3, 2011, at 4:22 AM, Customer “Jane” wrote: I do not understand your statements that "everything was ambiguous" - there was nothing ambiguous about my stating that another dealer offered to sell me a similarly equipped vehicle for $32,171 but that I would like a reduction in that amount to reflect a portion of the document fees which I believe is nothing but profit - especially on a straight cash transaction. There was nothing ambiguous about you guy saying that his company would beat that the amount of $32,171 and that a couple hundred dollars would not be an issue - there was nothing ambiguous about the fact that he indicated he wasn't sure how much the document fees were - $349 or $399 - we discussed this on the telephone. And he led me to believe he had the Tuscan red vehicle with the tan interior equipped as I requested. That is why I did not buy a similar car with the charcoal interior at your other dealership in Peoria when they offered to make me the same deal. There was nothing ambiguous about him asking me to make an appointment to come in and that you were going to make me a great deal because he needed to sell another car to make an incentive. I have to admit that I was very skeptical when you contacted me, but I thought I would give it a chance. I guess I was right - you are doing exactly what the other two, guys did - give me another deal and try to convince me to do that deal rather than the deal the original guy committed to over the telephone. I believe you are calling me a liar - as did the other two gentlemen with whom I dealt at your dealership. Jane. ______________________________________________________________________________ --- On Fri, 6/3/11, Matthews, Troy <TMatthews@vtaig.com> wrote: From: Matthews, Troy <TMatthews@vtaig.com> Subject: Re: OTD numbers on your new car To: "Jane" Date: Friday, June 3, 2011, 9:01 AM Wow, I did not intend to imply any such thing. Thank you for your candid feedback. I was not of the understanding that any prices were specifically quoted. I understood you had expressed what another dealer-salesperson had implied and that my salesperson implied he would beat any deal and that the vehicle you were looking was available. I did not intend to upset you. I am in the car business, as you are an attorney. We both share professions that are heavily scrutinized for their processes, implications and ideologies. I have had multiple attorneys throughout the years. A couple really passionate ones that served me well. Others that simply fished me in, took my monies and gave me nothing of real value in return. I only mention that analogy because I know you can relate. I am one of the good ones. I can assure you that my intentions are of good nature. I want to work this out amicably. I will await your proposal. tm ______________________________________________________________________________ From: “Jane” Sent: Friday, June 03, 2011 8:53 AM To: Matthews, Troy Subject: Re: OTD numbers on your new car Good Morning Troy: I appreciate your response. I think if you consider the interaction I experienced at your dealership, you will understand my reaction to your offer that does not incorporate the items I discussed with your salesman. When I spoke with him, the price I indicated was $32,177 less a portion of the document fees. This involves the tuscan sun (red) Maxima 2011 with cafe interior - 2 yrs. free maintenance at any dealership, I suggest a reduction of one-half of the document fees ($399) from the purchase price above for a total sales price of $31,978- plus sales tax, and other associated fees. If you indicate you would honor this deal, I would come and see the vehicle prior to entering into a contract with you. Thank you. Provided I agree, will you do this for me? •Will you allow me to service your new vehicle? As long as you are happy with our level of service-of course. I would be happy to provide you with a complimentary loaner vehicle any time you bring it for service. No matter what the service is for. If you want your oil changed and want to go run errands. No problem …Loaner car. •Allow us to start over… a “reset” if you will of our customer –dealer relationship. •In fairness of equitable resolution: update the resolution code in dealer rater indicating the end result is your now satisfied 4*+ and that I personally have serviced you well. I would like this no longer to be about the mistakes that were made but how well management in this store took ownership of the problem that occurred and quickly moved toward resolution. •Will you be happy :) tm ______________________________________________________________________________ From: Matthews, Troy Sent: Wednesday, June 08, 2011 6:29 PM To: “Jane” Cc: Matthews, Troy Subject: Your new car is here - on the ground Jane , if you responded to my previous e-mail, I did not receive it.
