On March 31 2023 I took our 2013 Chevy Tahoe to Midway Motors Hillsboro, Ks. Ticket #91170, Customer #: HIRAH250365 I explained that the Newton Midway Motors Shop had diag. the check engine light as a co Motors Hillsboro, Ks. Ticket #91170, Customer #: HIRAH250365 I explained that the Newton Midway Motors Shop had diag. the check engine light as a code P0300. A random engine misfire and it probably needs new spark plugs. I told the Service manager that I needed an oil change and new spark plugs. The service Manager later told me that it was going to cost me $800 to fix the spark Plugs. He showed me a spark plug with new oil on the threads. I noted that the spark plug had new oil on the threads and the firing tip was light brown and clean. And I told him that the spark plug was fine and just needed changed. He said they were go to have to pull the Intake manifold and the valve covers to find out why there was oil on the spark plug threads. I told him NO and to just put in new spark plugs. He said he could not do that because they would have to order the plugs, they did not stock that plug. The oil change normally cost me $56, but this ticket they charged me $194.41 He said they did a diagnostic, one that I did not request, since Newton had already done one. More
