We felt like we were judged as soon as they saw us. He spoke tersely to us when we requested to test drive the car. During the test drive he was knowledgeable about the car but we felt that we were getting the salesmen's pitch. He spoke about himself overly much. Upon returning to the dealership he did not take us back to his office. He said he would help us find the car with the extras we wanted but when he looked they said they only found one car in the four state area and it was being test driven, meaning they would buy it. He said that we should just buy what they had on the lot. He pushed leasing the car and wouldn't come off the MSRP even though we had a $5,000 cash down payment. He contradicted himself several times. When we got home we called several other dealerships in the four state area and found 6 cars that fit our requests. He did not take our contact information. In all we felt relieved we didn't purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Upon describing our experience to friends and family we were told they had a similar experience when they were buying a new vehicle there. We ended up driving to Virginia to purchase the car we wanted at a $2000 reduction in MSRP at that dealership. We were treated with courtesy and didn't feel railroaded. More
I was really blown away buy these guys. I have not had great car buying experiences in the past, and quite honestly I expected the same this time. But they completely did the opposite. Very honest and straight forward. I didn't walk away feeling like I had been run over. The business manager (forgive me I don't remember his name) was so friendly, and just great to deal with. Not only did my wife and I get more car than we thought we could, but we also got a fantastic deal. And THEY were the ones who suggested the better deal! I actually have a really hard time expressing it all because, like I said before, I was blown away. I have told everyone I know about these guys. Even Mr. Wray came out and made extra sure we were well taken care. This was hands down the best car buying experience I have ever had. And any car I buy in the future, I will go to them first, period. More
I was quite impressed with Wray VW. Initially we were working with JP King via e-mail. He was able to find the exact vehicle I wanted and ship it to their location. Our first visit to the dealership we worked with Ward Richardson with test driving and general information about the vehicles. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about every vehicle on the lot as well as very helpful. He was a lot of fun to work with and made my decision to buy a car from them easy. I was confident in my decision especially when he owns two VWs himself. I highly recommend Ward if you want to be comfortable, confident, and knowledgeable about your car purchase. The entire staff is friendly and the atmosphere is easy going. Definitely not pushy at all. Thanks to Ward and Wray VW, I drove away in my new 2011 Jetta TDI Friday afternoon and absolutely love the vehicle!! Thanks guys! More
In addition to providing service for my 2006 Miata, Andy Wilson at Wray Mazda has agreed to provide service for my 2003 Honda Civic (the Honda dealership moved locations). I recently had an issue with the temperature gauge on my Honda and called Dean Royson to see if they would take a look at it. They were able to fix the problem within a few hours. I met Andy Wilson at the service area to thank him for providing service on my Honda, providing an excellent price, and providing excellent customer service. In the conversation, Andy detailed all the "extra steps" they performed to ensure the problem was corrected. I continue to be amazed at the quality of their repair service and the genuine interest and focus on the customer. Hopefully I have many more years with the Miata. I suspect I'll need to replace the Honda in a few years or so. I have owned a half dozen Hondas but will definitely go to Hal Wray for the next replacement. More

I can't say enough about my Wray Volkswagen experience. My salesman Ward Richardson was very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. It's good to have a salesman who likes cars as much as you do. I walked into Wray Automotive expecting to at first look into a pre-owned vehicle. Jonthan greeted us very friendly and immediately asked us what we were expecting and what we were looking for. They diligintly worked all evening to see what could be done as my credit is not where (I) would have liked or most banks would have liked. The next day, Jonathan called with our news and him and James then proceeded to take us to the new car lot! We got the car of our dreams! More
The Mazada 3 I currently am driving is the third car I have bought from Wray Automotive. If I have ANY concern, all I do is call Bert Bock and he answers my question or puts me in contact with the individ have bought from Wray Automotive. I have met and spoken to Mr. Wray and his son on numerous occasion - in person & on the phone. George Mook and Andy Wilson are always honest and up-front with me . . . something this female truly appreciates when it comes to car mechanics, due to my lack of expertise. I quite imagine I will buy my next vehicle from Wray as well. They take the time to make sure I am comfortable with what I am purchasing & truly go the extra mile when it comes to making their customers happy! I recommend this dealership highly! More
Jonathan did everything possible for my wife and I to buy a car from Wray. We don't have the best credit, but Jonathan working along side of Rob their sales manager was able to help us get into a great car a car from Wray. The purchasing experience was great and every time we have taken our Jetta in for service the service staff has been wonderful as well. On April 5, 2011, I was having a very bad day car shopping in Columbia, SC. I am from Sumter, SC, so my goal was to NOT go home unless I was driving a new car :). For 8 hours, I was given the "RUN AR shopping in Columbia, SC. I am from Sumter, SC, so my goal was to NOT go home unless I was driving a new car :). For 8 hours, I was given the "RUN AROUND" at other dealerships in the area. My boyfriend decided to make one last stop at Wray Auto. Immediately, we were welcomed and serviced by Robbie Ruble. At first, I was VERY DISCOURAGED due to a few past problems on my credit history, but Robbie made sure that that was NO PROBLEM! I was PRE-APPROVED in less than 20 minutes for a car loan! Robbie asked me what kind of car I was looking for, price, milege, size, EVERYTHING! He helped me picked out the PERFECT car with NO PROBLEM- a 2010 Hyundai Accent! I fell in love with it immediately!!! Out of the 8 hours I spent looking for a car, Wray Auto should have been my FIRST & LAST STOP! Their customer service was the BEST I have seen in all my years of car shopping! Robbie, including the rest of the staff, was very professional, understanding, patient, and helpful. They make sure that you are 100% satisfied and will NOT leave their lot without a vehicle you will love and will be reliable for you for years to come. I can not thank Wray Auto enough for making my day yesterday! They brought the BIGGEST SMILE to my face and I will recommend them for ANYBODY!
