I stopped in to test-drive a Mazda 3 and she took great personal interest in finding one that would fit my needs and even satisfy some of the "love to have" elements of a new car. She stayed engaged with me through e-mail and phone follow-ups, remembered me every single time we made contact, and really made me feel like I mattered. Victoria was a joy to work with, is great at her job, knows her industry, and is a fun person to guide you through what can be a difficult and scary process. Seriously, come here and ask for Victoria, and she will take great care of you. More

I have a ve My boyfriend and I stopped at Midlands Mazda to check out the nice used cars they had on the lot. I was looking to find a small hatchback. I have a very strict budget as a newly graduated college student, which is why I decided to shop for a used vehicle. Not 30 seconds after I got out of my car, I was greeted by a salesman named Jonathan who asked me about the reason for my visit and my price range. My first impression-- this was an aggressive salesman. I explicitly stated that I had no intention of buying a brand new car, and that I had no intention of buying any car that day; my only goal was to test drive a few used vehicles so that I could compare them to other hatchbacks. Jonathan insisted that I didn't want to waste my time looking for a used car, when I could have a brand new Mazda 3 for LESS than my budget price. After saying 'no thank you' several times, I finally agreed to test drive a newer model, just to get a feel for the Mazda handling. The test drive was pretty short and boring. He didn't seem to know a whole lot about the safety features. When we got back to the dealership, Jonathan gave me the sticker price of the car, which was $2000+ over my budget. He looked visibly upset when I said that I was not interested in buying a new car, especially for that price. His entire argument was based on 'what-ifs.' What if I could lease it, what if I could get a co-signer, what if they offered me more for a trade-in, etc. He had promised to find a car within my budget-- and he failed to do so. He didn't even offer to show me any used models. If Jonathan couldn't make the brand new sale, he didn't want the sale at all. He simply interrogated me, asking why I couldn't afford a new car at that 'low' price. I found this extremely offensive. I tried to keep my composure, saying that I did not have a down payment readily available and I could not afford the $400 payments. When I mentioned that I wanted to test drive a VW at the dealership next door, he immediately became defensive, saying that VW were pieces of crap that break down every few thousand miles. Come to find out, he was bashing a dealership that was managed by the SAME OWNER as midlands Mazda. What a moron. I mentioned his little rant to the VW manager next door and he was incredibly pissed. Basically, I spent over an hour at that dealership arguing with a salesman who didn't know when to back-off. It was an extremely uncomfortable situation, even with my boyfriend standing right next to me. I do take some responsibility for the ordeal-- my best move should have been to immediately walk out. I will never return to this dealership, and I will not recommend it to anyone because of the way Jonathan tried to trick me into purchasing a car well above my budget . The only good thing about this place is that they have some nice vehicles on the lot. More

Together with Cooper and Angel, we agreed on what I feel was a very fair price, which matched the best online price that I could find on Truecar.com. They were very professional, and there was none of the high pressure sales tactics that so many other dealers use. I actually enjoyed the experience and would definitely buy from them again when I need another car, and would also recommend them to anyone else. The final paperwork was done by Casey and was very smooth and professional. Over the past 45 years, I have bought a lot of cars and dealt with a lot of sales people, and never looked forward to going through the process. The people I dealt with at Midlands Mazda, Cooper, Angel and Casey made my buying experience one of the best ever. I especially want to thank Cooper, as the main person I dealt with. In summary, Midlands Mazda was great; a great car, a fair and honest deal, simply, the best. More

My search for a new car lasted 2+ months, which is normal for me as I don't buy vehicles that often. I narrowed my decision to a Mazda 6; I then went to work finding a dealer to work with. Angel Vargas and Johnathan Fink were courteous and professional, they did what they said they would do, and have been awesome even post purchase. It's very rare to work with a car dealer that actually does exactly what they say they would do; no surprises, just a smooth and great experience. It is important to mention that I have a dealer much closer to me, but I will deal with Midlands Mazda before anyone else. More

Excellent Customer Service This was my first time buying a new car on my own and I learned pretty fast from talking with other car dealerships that they won't work with you. So on a whim I pulled into Midlands Mazda and Jonathan Fink came out and gave me an excellent deal on a Mazda 3 iSport Sedan. I told him where I was at with my budget plus trade and he totally worked with me in getting in a car I wanted. If I didn't like something in a trim or didn't feel comfortable with a trim he would bring out another car and say, "How do you like this?" He fought for me and he definitely went beyond to make sure I left happy in a car I wanted. The other car dealerships in the Columbia area basically had a "take it or leave it" mentality and wouldn't work with me with different trims or price. I definitely appreciated what he did and the add-on's he offered to make sure I was 100% happy. Also, he does the best test drive in Columbia. Just saying! More
