Overall very good service experience. Making my service appointment the most difficult aspect. Service advisor kept me informed. The diagnosis and repair were made in the same visit. If you like to wait a month and a half to get a service appointment, and then get a quote so far above the realm of logical understanding, then this is the place for you! First i was quoted $1,700 for appointment, and then get a quote so far above the realm of logical understanding, then this is the place for you! First i was quoted $1,700 for a 100k service. This included cleaning the the MAF and throttle body, which was just mechanic in-a-bottle(fuel and oil additives, I am sure), flushing and replacing engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant, excluding transmission service since it was just replaced. 4 days later, after allegedly inspecting for a coolant leak, (the whole purpose of the the visit, they come at me with a quote for $5600 to replace a head gasket. They claimed to have torn it down and found a leak during their coolant pressure test, at the head gasket on the rear cylinder bank. I told them just to button it back up and i would come get it. All this "buttoning up" must have been pretty extensive, because it took two days for them to tell me it was ready. I went to pick up the car, and the battery was completely dead. I lifted the hood and the engine compartment showed no sign of being touched. You see, i secretly installed a very fine layer of evenly coated dust on everything under the hood(not really, it just hasn't been touched for a long time other then the coolant and oil caps, and now the battery. By seeing my prints on the battery cover, it was clear to me that not one human hand touched anything under the hood! So what took two days to inspect? And two days to put back together? Without disturbing the dust that had settled under the hood? The more you know.... Now, i know the job is labor intensive, so i looked up the book time for the job. It allows 14 hours to complete the job. I'm no mathematician but I do have a calculator app, and that puts their shop rate at a super affordable $400 per hour. I know the job market is messed up right now, but there is no excuse for this kind of blatant price gouging. Are they not milking the loyal G.M. customers enough by charging new car prices above msrp, that they need to pull underhanded service tricks to make ends meet? Is this how they think they will get me to buy another Cadillac, or any gm product for that matter? I'll tell you now that it will not! This is the second time I have been completely worked over and lied to by this service department. We won't get into the great transmission debacle, where i paid for the entire job, parts and labor upfront, just to make sure it got done expediently and right, but ended up having to take it to another transmission shop to actually get it done at all. So i guess it is my own fault: "Fool me twice, shame on me!" More
