Worst customer service & completely incompetent service dept Here's what I sent top Hyundai International: I have been a loyal Hyundai owner for 12 years, my family's last 8 vehicle purchases were Hyundais, and Here's what I sent top Hyundai International: I have been a loyal Hyundai owner for 12 years, my family's last 8 vehicle purchases were Hyundais, and I even convinced my fiance to opt for a Hyundai Tuscon lease rather than the Toyota she was leaning toward for her most recent vehicle acquisition. I have NEVER experienced anything as poor as the service and incompetence at my home dealer Meriden Hyundai in CT. Every time I have brought me car in for service, I have left with a problem I did not arrive with. Most recently I needed to have my trunk fixed even though I had the same part replaced 8 months earlier. I also had to have my A/C dial replaced despite also being fixed within the last year (the first time, the tech busted up my car so badly the dealer had to replace my entire dash when I only went there needing a new dial. With this latest trunk situation I have now been to the dealer THREE TIMES and still not had it fixed. Most recently (last week) I was assured I would be in and out in an hour or less, and after driving 40 minutes to the dealer, I arrived to find out they had ordered the wrong part. This is now about 100 miles I have spent driving back and forth to have my trunk fixed to no avail, and a month without being able to use my vehicle's trunk. I am not certain if this service department is just utterly incompetent or there is something more sinister going on. I also recently asked the GM of the dealer to contact me. A week passed and I had heard nothing, so I called back again...after a few more days the cowardly GM called me, let it ring twice, and left a voicemail...AFTER the end of business on a Friday so I had no way to call him back. I have also been talking to the techs there for months about my belt tensioner, which I KNEW had been an issue on the vehicle. They continually told me that only the belts were an issue, not the tensioner. I'll give you one guess what just went on my vehicle now that the warranty has expired. I feel this service department is deceptive and conniving. They are not doing justice to the brand Hyundai has built over the years. They are not treating my family as the loyal customers we are and showing me the respect I deserve as someone who has taken great care of my Hyundai vehicles over the years. It should not take two weeks to get in touch with the GM (especially when you've been to the dealer in-person 3 times looking to do so - where is he?). I should not drive away from the service department with more problems than I came with. Furthermore, I should not have to go back to the dealer on 3 separate occasions to get something fixed right - ESPECIALLY when it is an item I had fixed under warranty with genuine Hyundai parts by Hyundai certified technicians just 8 months earlier - don't forget, this has happened twice with two different parts. I am beginning to think my vehicle itself is a lemon, but my larger concern is the complete ineptitude of the dealer I chose to spend my hard-earned money at to buy my vehicle. Meriden Hyundai has absolutely not lived up to what they promised in terms of service and customer care, and their existence is a mark on the name of the overall Hyundai brand. I would like to be contacted by somebody with Hyundai International ASAP to begin to rectify this situation. I am bringing my vehicle back (4th time) to get the trunk (supposedly) fixed today, at which time I will also point out to them the belt tensioner issue that I had been telling them about since my car was still under warranty when it should have been addressed. My salesman was Nick Inman. he was personable, friendly, pleasant and accommodating. I told him what I had in mind and the first vehicle he brought me to was exactly the one I wanted and bought. I didn't even need to look at anymore. I came back a day or two later and within an hour nick, frank, amy and habib had everything finalized and I drove out in a 2014 Hyundai Tucson all wheel drive that I just love. I would indeed recommend anybody to buy a vehicle from Meriden Hyundai at this point in time More
