I have heard of Merchant Motors in Hooksett. I know the owners name is Steve Singer. I knew it rang a bell! He is the promoter/producer/ring announcer at the annual charity event Fight to Educate". As a former boxer and current educator I realized we shared the same passion. Helping kids through boxing. I was very impressed with Steve Singer and he seemed like a very good guy. A close friend referred me to Merchants Motors. He was my childhood buddy and he ranted and raved about how the prices and service/support can not be beat around New England. He said its not even close! Merchants is by far the best dealership in New England. I figured I would give it a shot. The idea of purchasing a car provokes anxiety. This is how I felt when I was driving to Merchant Motors. I found a place to park right in the front and although I had prearranged a meeting with a sales rep (Peter) . However, the guy at the door asked me if I needed any help. Then I was seated and offered a coffee. This is how it felt throughout my experience in the dealership. I was asked if I wanted a coffee. I was shown where the restrooms were located after I appeared lost near the giant fish tank. I was feeling better, but again I felt the way I did before a boxing match.. edgy. However, these feelings became tolerable and I was put at ease several time. I never felt pressured as a matter of fact. Peter told me that we would support me regardless what I purchased. He even added that " I will do what ever it takes so that you feel comfortable with the vechicle/price/payment etc... " This sums up my experience at Merchant Motors of Hooksett. As a fighter, veteran of Iraqi Freedom and educator... I do not pull punches. I say it like it is. I highly recommend them. More
My wife and I were very impressed with Rich. We've bought many cars before, but feel that not only was he very profesional, but one of the best saleman we've delt with. First time buying from Merchant auto and I can truly say I was happy with how they do business ,they gave me more for my trade then book value and looked around to find the best lender to get the best inter I was happy with how they do business ,they gave me more for my trade then book value and looked around to find the best lender to get the best interest rate, made me feel well taken care of , I would recommend checking this place out they have a great selection and all the vehicles I saw were way under what other dealers were asking for similar vehicles More

Stopped by Merchants to see what we could get into. Was there for four hours. Switched desks 3 times while working with Bob. Told Bob and the Finance Manager what we could do for a payment. Wasted 4 hou there for four hours. Switched desks 3 times while working with Bob. Told Bob and the Finance Manager what we could do for a payment. Wasted 4 hours at Merchants. Refused to give us KBB value for the trade in. Refused to lower the sticker price on the town and country to the KBB fair market value. Was full of promises and acting nice when they asked us to leave $100 for the deposit on the Van. When I came back the next day and asked for it back all of sudden I was a bad guy. Was told we were guaranteed this Van and what our payment would be. Didn't happen. Went up to auto wholesalers and they offer us a same Van 1 year newer with 30K less millage. $2,000 for trade in (Merchants was $800). They brought the sticker down from $15.995 to $13,995. Something Merchants wouldn't do. Mechants didn't even test drive the trade in. Just looked at it and said $800 for a 2005 Dodge Stratus. I know its worth more then $800 with 102k Mileage for trade in at a dealer. One more thing I was in and out under 30 mins at the other dealer doing the same stuff we did at Merchants. Merchants was a big waste of time and because I didnt have the best credit I was crapped on. The dealer a mile away uses the same banks and was able to get us in the Van. Never shop at Merchants. More
The sales & service experience evolved into nothing short of a disaster. Without exception, every interaction with this dealership led to frustration. I was planning on joining my local credit union prior to my sales experience,at Merchants , but during the sales process Merchants signed me up w/ there local credit union not too mention a great finance rate! My husband and I were looking to trade in our cars as we needed an upgrade. We are expecting our first child within weeks and Dave was there to assist us in the car buying process. Dave listened to what was on our wishlist but didn't give us the run around about what was realistic for our price range and trade in value. Dave was able to select two cars that fit my husband and I perfectly. Dave understood the need for better cars, but also our financial situation and kept it realistic. Dave was very down to earth and we did not feel pressured to do business there. The car buying process was easy and it is all because of Dave. I left the same day in a new car which had half the miles my trade in had and barely increased my monthly payment. All the staff members there were helpful, but we spent most of our time with Dave. He has a great sense of humor and professionalism which is hard to find these days. Thanks Dave! More
My husband and I went into this purchase hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. My credit is not the best due to a layoff in the past. First off When I walked in the door, Mr. Carter greeted me and asked if I was here to see anyone specific. I replied with " yes someone who can sell me a car" Mr. Carter chuckled and so the process began me and asked if I was here to see anyone specific. After finding a car that met all my needs and wants the real work for Mr. Carter and team had started. I have bad credit and didn't have a lot of money to put down but with that being said these guys put in the work to get me approved though a bank and got me into a great car. I dreaded the thought of buying a new car but this great team came together and made the whole process easy and efficient. Thanks again guys for all the hard work !!! I will surely be back to buy my next car from you guys!!!!! great company to do business with I strongly recommend Dave Carter for a sales guy and Steve Coimbria Is a great finance guy! More
