This was our first time purchasing a vehicle from a dealer of this caliber. Upon arrival, we sat down with Mark and went over the what we were looking for as well as our financial situation and within dealer of this caliber. The test drive went great and we were pleasantly surprised on how well the car performed compared to our previous car. Although the time required to complete the purchase process exceeded 5 hours, I don't feel as though that was excessive. Mark was friendly and very helpful in making sure our deal got done. He and seemingly all the staff at Merchants Auto are definitely "Northeastern" in terms of friendliness. We're from the South and are used to a more hospitable ambiance though overall we're extremely pleased with our purchase at Merchants. A better price on the car would have only served to sweeten the deal though admittedly our credit standing didn't provide much room for haggling. Merchants Drive Right program (so called "buy here pay here") is a fantastic way for someone with a poor credit rating to obtain a newer vehicle. Best of all, this gets reported to the credit agencies so your credit can be revitalized! That was a major factor for us in completing a purchase with Merchants. Simply put Merchants offered the most bang for my buck! No other car lot around is like them and if you're in the market, do yourself a favor... GO TO MERCHANTS! Fast forward to 2024 and I am now putting my forehead in my hand and ashamed for having said this at the time of purchase. This dealership dressed that car up and put a bow on it and I ate it up. I in no way can say that this car dealership is for its customers as they advertise they are. They still have the loan active on my credit file though they sold the car at auction after possessing it from me in 2018. I have contacted them in the past to try and address this issue to which their response was pay your bill. At that time it was already with a collection agency so they were apparently attempting to continue to stick it to me. What to do now? We started our day by going to Irwin in Laconia and we left there beyond disappointed. I got on my phone as we were driving away and I started looking for other dealerships and that's when I found Merchan left there beyond disappointed. I got on my phone as we were driving away and I started looking for other dealerships and that's when I found Merchants. I called and told them what we were looking for a minivan. I was told that they had 32 in stock and to come on over. They were nothing but caring and eager to please. I was worried a bit about the credit situation but they assured me that they would find a way. Sure enough they came through and I was over the moon. They were able to get us a loan with a bank and we are now the proud owners of a great minivan that has all of the room we need for our growing family. I highly recommend Merchants Auto to anyone looking for a vehicle. You will not regret it! More
