Thank you for your feedback regarding Mercedes-Benz of Wilkes-Barre. Our service department is run in a professional manner that puts our customers’ needs and safety first. This vehicle was brought in in mid-June and you were not present to authorize work in writing. We attempted many time to contact you to authorize work before we could start evaluating the vehicle. You did not respond to several messages left. Once the authorization was obtained, the vehicle, a 2007 E-Class with just under 200,000 miles needed engine work, and the work approved was done by certified Mercedes-Benz technicians. You declined recommended service that should be addressed. The vehicle is not road worthy as the factory brakes have been replaced by brakes that are not designed by the manufacturer for this vehicle. The rotors are too small and the brake pads hang over the edge of the rotors. The caliper pistons are seized. The statement about an inaccurate bill is not correct. The bill reflects the work done and services completed just to get the car to work properly and to stop. There are several electrical systems in this vehicle and parts had to be replaced. Nothing was duplicated and nothing unnecessary was done. As to our hours and payment requirements, the hours are posted on the internet and we apologize that you made the trip without checking first. We will accept a debit card, money order, or cash, but for this repair, we cannot accept credit cards. The vehicle can be picked up and we are sure that based on the repairs done, you will be satisfied with the work that was completed. However, the vehicle remains unsafe to drive based on the work done on the brakes prior to it arriving at our shop.
