Mercedes-Benz of Union responded

Hello, We are sorry about your issue but while you were in for the Subframe recall our service manger Sean did sit with you on Saturday for an extended period of time and spoke to you about issues with the alternator that you told us you just replaced at an outside shop. Sean did explain on Saturday about how a new battery with a poorly working alternator will drain the battery and eventually lead to a no start condition. Sean also helped you purchase a genuine Mercedes Benz alternator even though you were going to have it installed on your own. We even sent someone to the gas station down the street to give you a jump start after you left to try and help. As far as the cluster, The Subframe recall we performed did not require us to touch the cluster for any reason as this is inside the car. Again, We apologize for your issue, But we did not install the aftermarket alternator but did try and help you the best we could.
