I recently moved to Florida and today I was trying to schedule service for my 2016 MB Passenger Van and chose Mercedes-Benz Of Tampa because it was the closest location to my new home. What a mistake! I schedule service for my 2016 MB Passenger Van and chose Mercedes-Benz Of Tampa because it was the closest location to my new home. What a mistake! I person I spoke to would not look up the vehicle by VIN to see the recall work that needed to be done. So I had to explain the recall work, the Schedule B maintenance, coolant flush, rear axle gear oil and the battery check and once scheduled I confirmed that a loaner would be available since they will have it for at least two days only to be told a loaner is not available because it is a MB passenger van. I asked her to check again since I have been getting loaners from 3 different dealerships in MD/DE since 2016. She came back on the line after a 5 sec hold and stated they do not do loaners for vans. I asked her to cancel the order and I will schedule elsewhere. My next call was to Fields Motorcars MB in Lakeland. A total 180 degree difference. They pulled up my VIN saw the recalls, the B service and additional work. In less than 10 min we had everything scheduled and a loaner vehicle confirmed and even sent me a text confirmation. I did not mention to either dealership that I plan to purchase my wife a new AMG E 53 coupe for Christmas. Mercedes-Benz of Tampa will not be getting that sale or future service. More
