Mercedes of South Charlotte did not disclose over $4000 in maintenance that this vehicle required at the time of purchase. This means either 1.) they didn’t know about it, and their vehicle inspections in maintenance that this vehicle required at the time of purchase. This means either 1.) they didn’t know about it, and their vehicle inspections are woefully insufficient, or 2.) they willfully failed to disclose. I would prefer to think it’s the former. During purchase, no mention of deferred maintenance was made. Test drive and inspection did not reveal any issues. The vehicle appeared clean and well kept, so I proceeded with the purchase. I completed the paperwork in the evening and went to go pick up the next vehicle the next morning. Before pickup I registered the vehicle with Lexus which allowed me to see detailed service records. Service was done within the last 1000 miles at Lexus, but a water pump and oil leak were deferred. I inspected during pickup, and could only see mild seepage. I asked the salesman, Janusz, and he wasn’t aware of any issues. I scheduled an inspection one week following purchase, and the mechanic recommended timing cover seal and water pump. This is amounts to over $4000 in work at a Toyota service center. This inspection agrees with the deferred maintenance from Lexus. Needless to say, avoid purchasing a used vehicle or getting your car serviced from Mercedes of South Charlotte. At the very least, they are not up to the Penske standards of quality and attention to detail. I understand this is a used vehicle, and upkeep and maintenance are required. However, issues like this should be disclosed if they exist prior to purchase. I hope the dealership chooses to make this right. More
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a service dept ,the #1 problem was to put a belt on correctly and while I was there I figured i would have some others things done ,I knew I had one se service dept ,the #1 problem was to put a belt on correctly and while I was there I figured i would have some others things done ,I knew I had one sensor in exhaust needed replacement, agreed to that since it was there already there, charged me over 500.00 plus the part that takes 5 minutes to replace and then tell me the def system needs work and the other sensor is bad and seized and was going to be 1300.00 to fix that's where I smelled the xxxxxxxx !!!!! And said im coming to get it dont fix that part ,It's a 2007 model and did not come from mercedes with def until later year models !!! Here's where it really gets good ,the second sensor they said needs replaced was intentionally unplugged!!! Plugged it back works perfectly, HERE IS MY WARNING DEALERSHIPS ARE STRUGGLING AND TRYING TO GENERATE INCOME HOW EVER THEY CAN , TECHNICIANS AREN'T GETTING ENOUGH HOURS SO THEY ARE INVENTING PROBLEMS!!! MERCEDES SOUTH OF CHARLOTTE I WILL NEVER BE BACK AND YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!! More
