Sprinter was there from night owl Thursday for Friday 7:30 am for Service B. I said two things were very important to me. One was new filters in air conditioners and the second was to find out which two 7:30 am for Service B. I said two things were very important to me. One was new filters in air conditioners and the second was to find out which two tires to put cables on for snow. The van wasn’t ready until mid afternoon on Tuesday. They had not checked on what tires to put chains on and when they did I got three different answers. They also did not change all the filters for air conditioners. I waited another hour and a half for them to change the ac filters only to be told they only had one of the two filters in stock. I live an hour away and was leaving the state. The whole experience was irritating and the cost was over $4600 and still missing an ac filter and had to go elsewhere to learn which tires I could put cables on if needed in the snow. More
The dealership is great. Well as good as they can be considering my van isn't really up to the standard we customers are led to believe is the Mercedes Benz standard. For e Well as good as they can be considering my van isn't really up to the standard we customers are led to believe is the Mercedes Benz standard. For example, my original battery failed in Year 3. I paid the very expensive labor costs plus cost of new battery only to have the replacement battery fail within 9 months. Who designs these vehicles??? Can they not use the same battery for multiple years and models?? Apparently not as I was in Seattle for the second battery failure and the dealer there did not have the right battery in stock. I had been jumpstarted, my van appeared to have no faults causing the battery failure so I was sent on my way with the suggestion I do not stop for more than an overnight. My home dealer in San Jose had to check to see if they had the correct choice out of 3, THREE, different battery possibilities for the 2019 Sprinter van. No wonder these vehicles cost so much to buy and even more to maintain! Three different batteries for one model year of Sprinter Van? In my very limited experience of one van, the vans are not all that great but the dealers are terrific. I could go on with a whole litany of shortcuts Mercedes made in the design of the 2019 Sprinter. Which makes me wonder what cost savings measure they made under the hood. I'm just hoping the whole diesel engines last significantly longer than gasoline engines myth proves out. Which is why I bought a Sprinter. the only thing that would make visits to Mercedes Benz of San Jose better would be to have a micro camping area as I have had to spend 3 nights camping in the parking lot in the four years I have owned my van. Towed in once after hours due to a major failure (10 days to get replacement part), delay in part coming in one time, and this latest time driving home from Seattle in need of a replacement of my replacement battery.
